Anyone own and have extensively used a Cyborg? If you have, can you please post which model you have and what your impressions are. And if you have used an Ego, how does the Cyborg compare to it? Been curious about the Cyborg for a couple of years now and might be time to try it out.

Thanks in advance.

I have owned an 06 Lacolle Legacy and an 07 that had the updated noid and bolt, They shoot the same but I like the 07 design much more. I would recommend either over an ego anyday. Much smoother, little better on air, better quality and much quieter than any ego I have owned or shot, I had a POW MIA 09 ego and would shoot my 07 borg over it.

Thanks etipp98. I had a chance to pick up one of AirAssault's B29 or Death from Above Ego9s but couldn't get myself to throw out close to $1k for another marker. Thinking of trying to pick up a used Cyborg to check it out. I know it's another poppet valve marker like the Ego but not all poppet valves shoot the same. I think Timmies are smoother than Egos but i think Egos are faster shooting. The Borg might really be worth a try.

Anyone else shoot Borgs?

I'm not as up on all the new markers as some here are, but I do know the borg is an excellent marker. My brother had a 05 Sonic that he got on clearance in 07, I think. It arrived the day before we had a tourney. The first time he shot it was over the chrony before our first game. IIRC, he was +- 3 at 285 with no adjustments at all. Bear in mind that this is a new marker that sat in a box for over a year, and the only thing he did was add battery and air.

Speaking of air, they are awesomely efficient, he shot 2 cases on five fills of a 45/45 and had air left. Worst case, that works out to 17.7 per cubic inch or a little better than 1200 for a 68 and I am certain he had better than 1k left on that last fill.

Maint is simple, and the quality is unbeatable. Egos are alright, but they are not as smooth, quiet or efficient as any borg I have personally dealt with.

i had a cyborg rx, and i liked it ok. It seemed a little simple compared to my Ego 9. The ego was just so well engineered, with lots of attention to detail, and the borg, while awesome, seemed kind of plain. The borg did shoot nicely tho.

I like the marq for a poppet valve marker. Not a stacked tube design like a cyborg or Bushmaster but a poppet non the less.

Yes technically it is a poppet valve marker but a pressure controlled poppet and not a hammer/rammer poppet valve. I think the Invert Mini also falls in this category. Have heard some good stuff about the Marqs but it never really got my interest.
I'm also starting to get interested in the Quest. Seems like a much simpler spool valve marker than the DMs and PMs. Might be another one to check out.

Thanks for the responses so far. Any more feedback is appreciated.

Owned an 06 X-Fighters Cyborg and was so hard to get rid of! I praise these guns! I have shot ego's and while nice, i feel the cyborg's internal engineering surpasses that of the ego. I stand by MacDev 120%! If you are an ICD fan you will fall in love with the Borg's.

I have sinced moved on to an 01 Sonic Cocker, which is made by MacDev! I wouldn't buy any other gun these days except MacDev! Well made and engineered. They were better back in the day before they ame to America cause hardly anyone knew about them. I'm the kind of guy that likes the rare/hard to find/don't come by everyday guns, hence the 01 sonic cocker now.

Yeah if i can find an 06 or 07 Borg for a decent price i might just pull the trigger. Don't get me wrong, i love my 06 Ego. I have it shooting the way i like it and has been the fastest marker i've ever owned. Doesn't shoot as smooth as spoolie which is understandable (i own a PM5 and played with a DM7 & DM9) but the Alias Timmie shoots nicer than my 06 Ego.

Just have to decide which one to get first, Borg or Quest.
