So I got a go-kart frame and basically half an engine for free when my sister-in-law left her husband (drug addict). I decided it'd be fun to rebuild it for my 5-year old daughter Kori.

Any who, I finished the build Saturday night about 9pm and drove it around the yard. Good thing I live in the country or my neighbors would be mad Mr. Green

Well Kori was asleep while I was driving it on Saturday night so she found out Sunday morning that it was working and we decided to ride it together after Church. We both had our helmets (me in my moto-x and her in a skate board helmet) and everything went really well. The fuel needle had to be adjusted some but we got it hummin'.

Unfortunately, we hit a hidden stump at full speed w/ the rear drive wheel. It put a stress fracture in the shaft that holds the wheel. I believe the fracture was there previously because it was in a place w/ some sloppy weld. No big deal the kart can be repaired. I was mostly scared I had really hurt Kori. All my weight slammed her chest against the steering wheel. I got her calmed down in the yard and my wife did not even kill me Shocked yeah I know Shocked

So in the end, the funniest part of the whole story. I was concerned that Kori might not want to get back on the kart w/ me later (once it is repaired). She was kind of ignoring me and didn't want to talk about it. So I asked why she was upset...........she told me she was sad because she wanted it to go faster Mr. Green This is clearly my kid, she dealt w/ the pain now wants to take the danger factor up a notch. I love it!

I just thought y'all might get a kick out of that.

i've driven two of those before. once ona dirt track, and that was liek riding a giant vibrator.. when I was 16, me and my dad built a visual basic program for a guy, that holds information and helped him tune it; in return he gave us some cash and let us drive it around for a bit.

Once on a paved track, and that's the most fun i've had in a long, long, long, time.

I got to be on a team for the Purdue Grand Prix, the car didnt' make it in the race, but it was a heck of a good time.

Nice. I need to find a really light Go-kart frame for cheap cheap. I have one of those electric moped type deals that has no lighting and other parts have been robbed from it too. It does work however and would be fun to zip around on.
