Defiant appraisal
Slightly different rules here. You can get appraisals by having them posted here... Be nice, and don't get impatient - remember, by asking for an appraisal, you're asking someone else to spend their time figuring out what your gear's worth - and you're not paying them for it.

Local shop has this hang'n on the wall on consignment. Guy want's $90 for it. wondering what you guys think it should bring... been hang'n on the wall for sale for 6 months at least.

I know nothing about it except that it should air up and shoot.
Obvious Hyper2 Reg, empire on/off ASA, crappy flame drop, unknown barrel, dye Vertical adaptor, and somekind of LPR adjuster...
unknown board/chip.

The neck has been off and is no longer positioned as it was when it was new, so $50, tops.

low ball them. you might be the only person asking about it, but i would ask to take a look at it, take in a battery and see what board is in it. i think the barrel is an Empire one piece(since the ASA is Empire) and the adjuster is just one for the stock LPR. but again, if you can't get it in your hands and do a quick look-see you would have to go in blind.

so, the real question is, how bad do you want this?

I don't really want it all that bad, but it's been hanging there for months and months. And if it were cheap enough I'd grab it because it could be a nice project. I'm sure the shop would let me air it up and probably put a battery in it to test it.

I would assume it's a stock board and chip. I would assume everything else internally is stock as well.

so that said, Colin is saying $50 bucks.. what say the rest of you? I was thinking in the $65-75 range but I'll defer to you guys.

I do like the fade too and the hyper regs are one of my faves...

although the drop, on/off, dye VASA and barrel do nothing for me.

I did not notice the neck issue Colin pointed out. I just hope it's not fully threaded and not cross threaded and damaged...that could be a deal killer...

The Defiants were annoed with the neck on, for some unknown reason. Makes it super easy to tell if they have been moves. Since it is only a single lead thread, it can only bottom out in the same postion that it was annoed in. That leads me to believe that a) the neck is not all the way in (which I doubt, because the anno line looks to be below the body line) or b) the neck got over torqued and is now crimped at the bottom.
I spent days scraping jbweld out of the breech and neck of the Deffy I got from Tom (I knew this before I bought it) It's not an easy deal, but it is fixable if you are not sold on having the stock neck.

like i said, start at about $50 and go from there. maybe even do a deal where you get something else, plus that. if its up there for a while, the shop might want to move it, cause 1) you know what it is, 2) you actually seem interested in it, 3) a sale is a sale.

the feedneck could have been removed or just loctited in. gumming up the threads, so its now just not sitting right. go for it.

it would make sense to anno with the neck on to make the fade match... at least it makes SOME sense.

i do kinda like the dye grips tho...
