1. Get people.
- Flyers at proshops and school like Monke said.. don't forget to try local community centers, online search engines for paintball (try www.paintballtourney.com),
local fields, and even local sports stores.
- don't limit yourself to a single field. Play as many different ones as you can, and flip sides. Play against better teams as much as you can - and try to learn from it. Ask them what they think you can do to get better.
3. Play events.
- As many as you can manage! Get your team name out there.
4. Try for sponsorship.
- Think "outside the box" - it doesn't necessarily have to be a paintball company to sponsor you. Try local companies who might want to put $50 in your hands in exchange for a banner spot, or a logo on your jerseys, etc... my first year of tourney play, we had sponsorship from the field that we helped run, but also had sponsorship from a local doughnut shop, a gas station, and a car dealership. Don't expect a lot unless you're a DAMN good team, and are getting a ton of media coverage - sponsorship is a business deal.
