Recipe Text:

This is my take on banana nut bread. My team uses these as our "Energy Bars" before starting a day of paintballin. These are very filling, heavy, moist, dense, super tasty, and sticky!

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional)
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups mashed overripe bananas (the more overripe the better)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 eggs, beaten
1 1/4 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts) you can toast them for added flavor.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

1) Start by creaming the butter and sugar in a mixer.
2) add eggs one at a time stopping after each one to scrape the bowl down.
3) Mix in the mashed bananas.
4) Mix in the vanilla
5) Sift dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon)
6) Add the dry ingredients into the wet in small batches mixing and scraping down the bowl between each batch.. I usually do a 1/2 cup at a time mix scrape repeat until its all in.
7) Add the chopped pecans and mix.
8 ) divide mixture into 2 9x5 loaf pans that have been buttered and floured. I've also used the smaller mini loaf pans. It will make 8 mini loafs and those are perfect size to take to a game.
9) put the pans on the center rack and bake for about 45-55 minutes depending on your oven. its a good idea to do a toothpick check at about the 40 minute mark just to make sure. (insert toothpick in center of one loaf and remove, it should come out clean when the loaves are done. if not then check after another 5 min of cooking time)

now these are good warm... but trust me they are WAAAAAAAY better after you refrigerate for a few hours.

Wrap each loaf in saran wrap and place in the fridge. when they cool down and firm up you will see why i call them bricks. they are heavy sticky and OOOOOH SOOOO GOOOD!!! for an additional kick you can slice them up and spread cream cheese on them. ENJOY!

  back from the dead
Announcements specific to the website. Its been a long time since I have been here, time just flys. I have been so busy the last couple of years with C/F triggers I have decided to back to the roots and start to do OLD SCHOOL custom work on most of the older markers mainly Cockers, Mags, DM3/matrixes and of course Bushys. So if you guys have any ideas let me know, cant give time lines as I am selling my house and will be moving hopefully next year so I will have to pack everything up and set up again, so I will be making parts/custom milling when I have the time only,
IT WILL BE DONE WHEN POSSIBLE are the conditions of sale for everything

thanx John

  Attention All Bushmaster Lovers!
General Announcement63VDub has just posted up a beautiful Rare/Unique Bushy Tracking List. He has some, but there are many more unique Bushmasters not being represented! IF you have a good pic, I would encourage you to post it in the new Sticky "Rare Bushy Tracking List NOW WITH PICTURES!!!" Located in the Bushmaster forum. I personally have been awaiting this thread's arrival at ICD-O for a long time, and I think we owe it to ourselves, the ICD community, and the world, to make this this thread informative, and rich in detail. While I personally have no stake in the thread, good looking bushies are what got me into ICD products, and I think a unified thread of the internet's finest Bushmaster specimens would be A) engaging and B) super great. Thanks!
