I doubt it. GOG is as close as sp being back, and I don't think the Gardner brothers don't own it. There are so many shockers floating around, the only place the resale value is going is down. If it were a rare private label, like a gmax, yeah, maybe.

well, DLX is associated with SP, and i lump them in with them. guilt by association, plan and dimple.

though, second hand or third, i know that SP isn't getting anything from that so i don't go on a tirade about it, or stop people from selling stuff. as long as people know about them, then my job is done.

ignorance before the fact, i can't do anything about it. if you didn't know, then you didn't know. like this, i will voice my opinion using the facts of the issue, but ignorance after the fact, that's uncalled for.

but if you like SP products, and there are a lot of people that do, then you like them. the ion was a great marvel in the paintball world. world class performance at bottom prices. in the short run it was a marketing success.

now, the genie is out of the bottle and the world is in the garbage. new guns that used to hold there value are dropping in prices. half the list price of the new cost in 6 months, and it goes down from there. hell, B2ks when they first came out where $500, now they are floating at $50+, nearly 90% of the original price. granted, some of that is due to the world economy, but there was also another hand in it, and i point the finger at SP.

I think DLX stands alone now. I don't recall if SP's bankruptcy impacted them; they did not stop producing markers.

Me keeping the shocker is not an issue of liking smart parts. It is an issue of wanting to buy stuff that the pbn shocker community has created. The eigen bolt was a collective work between several stand-up dudes. The ipr is ccluff's brain child. Speedscustom has been working on that frame for a long time also.

While cheaper markers have brought the price of high end guns down, the manufacturers of those same guns hold some of the blame on that. If they stopped releasing "new" markers designs with hardly any changes, their resale values would stay higher. You can get an ego 8 for cheap now. I have no idea what the differences between and ego 8 and 9 are. Size maybe? To continue with DLX, from what I have seen the Luxe held its value longer. It has now dropped, probably because the Luxe 1.5 came out and I think the Luxe 2 is in production. (don't know that for sure) Much of this is conjecture based on my observations.

I have more thoughts on the subject, but I need to shower.

SP is dead and gone, they legally would never be able to even bring it back. Basically, its almost like it never existed for them lol. GOG is smart parts. Just look at the markers, same thing they were making as SP except with their stupid looking GOG label on it.
And dont expect to ever see a re-sale on regular shockers to go up, if anything, they will go down further. BUT, if you have one of the rare PL shockers, the re-sale on those will continue to rise. But I believe mal has a regular shocker. So if you wanted to sell it, better now than never. But just for fun, pic of this shocker of yours?

I did a little reading and it looks like GOG is just a newer version of Smart Parts without the debt. Logic dictates that they also own all of their old patents still.

And evidence to the shockers not gaining value: my freestyles are worth less now than they were in 2007.

Interestingly enough, look at the resale value of AKA markers. That is ironic.

Viks and Excals used to be great, but i think a small flood in the market, people buying them cause their great, and people selling them cause it is an investment as well as a great gun. $400 used to bring a blind 02-03, and you add at least another $100 for eyes, now you can get a decent 04 eyes and a bunch of shat for $350 or less.

i never looked at anything as an investment, cause i'm not that smart, nor have the money for the REAL guns that hold or exceed their value(real Ducks, RLs/KPs and the like and those PL and beautiful milled DC Viks and Excals).

so i never look at the resale value of anything, nor look to really turn a gun over. i like what i like, won't really haggle if i feel that the gun is worth it, and i leave it at that.

but by all means, finish that Shocker, just to say you finished it. and if you finish it and turn it over cause you can, then do so by all means. but to dump it for my opinion or the fact that others might be doing more with ICDs or whatever. no, that is the wrong state of mind. the grass is always greener, and have some intestinal fortitude with it.

the one thing in paintball(playing and internet) that i have taken away from it is patience. you need to have it, need to learn it, and you need know when its time to walk away. without that, those that consider themselves the 1%(as per Rob "Tyger" Rubin's percentage of players article) will walk away faster than that rental guy that gets lit up by some bunker monkey with the latest paintsprayer of the month.

I'm die hard AGD, Tom Kaye is god, the Gardner bros are the devil ect ect...

But you'll never get what you have into that shocker, buddy of mine has several DMs and Angels from a few years back and he won't sell them, simply because getting 100 - 250 from them doesn't sit right with him, so I say keep the shocker

But I'm also a pump player, lol, so any sniper project also gets my vote!! Lol

AGD/ AKA have held nice resale , AKA more so, I still sold a really nice Xmag for 1500 not to long ago, and my Euro Emag will still pull a nice price, id never sell her in this market though
