ok so today i got my new feedtube, the aka low rise. when i put it on and put my halo inside, i noticed that there was about 3/8'' of extra space on the feed neck..i cut off the excess with a dremel and an xacto knife....its got a super low profile now, and sits like 1 1/2'' above the top of my gun...i did a few searches to see if there were any posts about doing something like this, but i didnt find anything...is this a common mod?

i used a band saw to sand down mine to fit my ccm no-pro.
Its a relatively easy operation, however one must first stuff the neck with tissues to make sure that the shavings do not enter the internals of the motor/drive cone. It came out looking good i must say!
