What paint do you use and why?

I have got the markers figured out pretty well, but paint is a black art so far.
I have tried quite a few of the lower / mid priced paints most are about the same (they suck! ha -ha) with Blaze being my favorite so far. Last weekend they were out of Blaze so I tried RPS Premium it was ok but I got allot of barrel breaks. It might have been because it was so cold out there (40's). I don't care about fancy stars or stripes on the balls. I just am concerned with the basics - shoots very accurately and breaks on target.
Reading reviews most places is very confusing, because some people rate paint I know is garbage very high.

I am tempted to try a premium paint but thought I would ask.

of all the paint i've used I prefer blaze of it all. I've only used draxxus midnight twice; once it was absolutely amazing, the second time I was throwing it down on a cement floor and it was bouncing. I actually had good success with some PMI bigball the one time i've used it. I handpicked the bags though.

I think the problem with midgrade paint is that it's sketchy. Half the time it's great half the time it's bad. I would assume that higher end paint is great 90% of the time.

If I am playing woods ball i usually go with proball. Personal preference, cheap decent paint. But I really like how its a thick fill that doesn't wipe easy or doesnt break on twigs super easy. You do get bounces with it sometimes.

For all other games I usually shot RP marbs/premium or sometimes my fields paint which is Heat. I have had poor luck with heat, Had a case and the balls were so varied in size it was just pointless, and just so brittle

heat is one of those paints that can be both increddible and terrible. I've quit buying it due to that reason. Usually I'll ask teh guys playing how each paint is before I buy it.

Ok thanks for the tips, looks like paint is sort of a lottery you can get good or bad from same label. That's why I liked the Blaze its not great, but its always been useable. I was hoping to find paint that was noticeably better. I will keep trying different labels and report back if I find something worth writing about. Smile

I always get stuck with what ever the field paint is since I play field paint only games most of the time. But I like Marbs, evil and mid evil everything else is inconsistant.

Well I can add another name to the garbage list ......
"Action Village - Black Market Black Box paint offers the perfect choice of team grade paint for players who demand premium quality at an affordable price"
Ha what a crock! This paint is not even round! Every ball in the two cases have flat spots. I ordered plain generic white box stuff that was better Smile

I think the real issue with paint is that some grades are simply better than others, but you also have to look at storage time and the conditions (temp, humidity etc..) that the paint has been subjected to while in storage/transit.

I can pretty much guarantee you that when the paint comes out of the capsule machines it is round. Making paint is a very precise thing, not something that a Mom's and Pop's outfit can get away with.

An interesting side note about XO Industries: Owned by Aldo Perrone - not so famous for starting Brass Eagle and Zap as companies. He also has a boat load of patents too. Very influential guy in the paintball industry but very few people know much about him... oh and he's Canadian. Smile
