What year is the best "bang for your buck" for egos? I hear they work like a top. My buddy is looking for something that he can beat around and I want something for him that he will not be able to do bad voodoo magic on.

Get an 05/06 Borg and call it good.

08 is the best overall Ego but they have kept a value depending on the model. the SL8R is the best looking one IMO.

the Etek is pretty much idiot proof. but you can't screw up a Swoop Bushmaster or a Promaster. eyes, vert adapter and you can what you want.

surprised that you didn't go with the Ion route. stock ones you can get less for $100.

What he said... I have two '06's and an '07 Borg. They're sewing machine smooth. Still trying to snag a RX. Every time they come up for grabs they go poof.

I'll look at the older borgs. I forgot about those. I am looking for something light and in a poppit. He does not like the look of the promaster, which was my first suggestion.

I thought about Ions, but to bring it up to where I would like it, it would need 150 dollars worth of stuff. Plus, no bolt out back and it is a spool valve. I have nothing against spools, but for this, I am looking for something that the bolt can be easily removed and the breech can be swabbed in the event of a chop.

So I'll look at ego eights, etek threes, and 05-06 borgs. An RX would be nice too, but we will see.
