I haven't messed with my bushmaster for almost four years and now i've decided to bring it back to life. The problem im having is that when i pull and hold the trigger back the bolt stays forward. When i release the trigger is when the bolt goes back. from what i can remember this is not normal. someone please enlighten me.

My guess is the solenoid may be sticking or dry and loosing it's seals. You might want to open up the noid and clean it out with a Q tip. Lube it with synthetic oil like gold cup and don't loose the tiny pins in the ends.

i was thinking it was maybe a wiring issue because i had a loose wire and thought i found where it belonged. i dont think the noid is sticking because it clicks when the microswitch is engaged, but then makes another click noise when you dissengage from the microswitch. i would think this would all happen simultaneously when the microswitch is engaged but i dont know.

Just curious, where did the wire go back??

I think we need a little more description as to how the microswitch clicks vs the actual solenoid clicking.

Also, what is the LED light doing before, when, and after you pull the trigger? Your solenoid is currently working as though the noid is wired to the LED output on the board if it's a stock board. Confused (long shot)

As your post is writen above, it does sound like a board / wiring issue. Just need a little more info..

For your info, the icdpaintball.com website has the official bushmaster wiring drawings to download. You could cross reference your harness connections with that. Aslo, I think Madpooh has one in the sticky's here or on PBN.

ok, when trigger is pulled the light stays off till you let go of the trigger, just like the noid, and it's a stock board. the wiring diagram i found on the nation didn't look like mine (it had pds and mine doesn't). i thought i put the loose wire back where it came from, but i guess not. it's an old bushy with the teardrops if that makes a difference.

Doublecheck your harness connections with this:

ICD Bushmaster Wiring

Let us know what you find.

***edit*** I just noticed how difficult the ICD harness drawings are to read. Let us know how it goes.

Yes that is much easier to understand. The non PDS version will have the same pinouts but with the PDS wires not there.
