Kudos to everyone that’s replied so far. It’s good to see a little bit of initial interest.

I’ve thought about it some more and realized what I originally posted was a little bit far reaching.
What is it that we want to happen? Maybe go to a field and see some other ICD markers and talk shop, swap markers for a day, play on a team, whatever.
A random thread in the paintball talk section of this website probably not going to cut it.
I checked out the members list the other day and after seeing over 6000 folks I thought, “Well geez, there’s got to be enough folks to organize a team or get together somewhere.”
But honestly, there is probably only a handful of people who check this site regularly enough to notice this, and they are quite scattered, as was mentioned. Is there going to be a national convention of ICD-Owners, no. No one has the time or the capital to justify such a thing. I, myself, can barely get out to play paintball a few times every 4-6 months. But, if I did go out, it would be nice to see a few other peeps rockin’ ICD, that’s all I’m sayin.

What may be more effective would be for a member to announce that they are going somewhere and let others post up if they felt like it. People could just post up something if they were headed out on a specific weekend. It could even be a suggestion to the site for a new topic, a section for outings or other events. (yes, I guess this could just have gone onto a thread in the ICD-O news and events, but it’s not an event yet.) (and yes, I did check out the suggestions thread, and yes I should of posted something there, I just had to get a feel for the water)
It’d be interesting to see if people would use a resource like that here it to announce that they’re going out to a field and were going to represent ICD. It would probably work best for large events, like big games. If you were headed to a huge big game with your ICD markers and wanted to give people a heads up, others could check it and say “Hey, I’ll be there too.” That kind of thing

For what it’s worth, I’ll say I’ll be up for heading somewhere in the Oregon or SW Washington if anyone wants to meet up for an event or whatever. I’ve got a couple of Foxes I could lend out, it’d be nice to try out a Bushmaster for once.

DonF, it seems as if you’re Ashland/Medford bound? Although it’s probably a good drive from you, have you ever played Albany outdoor? I could make it down there for a day. I don’t know any places south of Eugene. I have to say I’ve checked out Paintball Palace doesn’t seem like my cup of tea.

Anyway, feel free to post up whatever you feel like saying about this. Who knows, maybe as the membership grows there maybe more interest in coordinating events in the future.

Holey crape I'm an idiot.

Just happened upon the Calendar of Events section.

From now on, if I'm going out to an event representing ICD, I'll post up there.

Edit: someone smack me in the head!

Dmz Paintball is the place I play at. Its huge but in the sticks. The only thing that sucks is they dont ref the marker speed well (only once in the morning) and the noobs with the spyders just give the velocity a few twists if they cant reach you... So you really have to be protected for woods ball!! Speedball seems to be better refed I haven seen or felt any hot markers there. I have to get some projects done but may head up north in the spring I heard there was an indoor place up there somewhere that might be cool. I never played indoors. Bushmasters are fun but really try a FS. Every time I shoot mine I go wow! Smile

I think it would be awesome if we finished up the ICD-O Jerseys that were discussed a while ago and make a showing at Living Legends 3.

It's in Chicago, so it's fairly central (if you flying anyways). It's just a huge conglomerate of players and it sounds like an amazing place to go play.

I feel like this gets brought up every so often...

Eric did one it STL that I actually went to and I live in RI. Fly out there and visited some friends and played some PB, it was nice to see different fields and meet some of the few people. But like I said few people actually showed. There was a lot of "oh ya ill be there" and when it came to it there were 7-8 ICD owners there that day.

Wisconsin representing here too.

Isn't the badlands down that way? Or did they change the name? That's a good place. Very big and pretty centralized for the midwest, lots of fields - both woodsball and speedball.

Damn, I used to play at the Badlands a little over a decade ago. Great field.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it over there for a paintball weekend. Was thinking about visiting some family in Michigan in January, but it looks like that's not going to go through.

Now that I think about it, I could probably ship a couple of my markers over to some old friends and have them represent ICD if enough interest is drummed up.
