Well the day was coming to an end and we had one game left. So the got all the groups together and were doing a 30 on 30 game. Unfortunatly I already put my gear away bc I wanted to save some air and paint for home. Buti decided to play unarmed. We had to storm a 2 story castle and either take the flag or kill everyone. This had to be acomplished in 30 min. So the game begins. I lay in the back and make snow angels for a few minutes. After a short time I sit up and watch everyone. I then begin to walk across the field unarmed. Everyone ignored me. I then walk in the front door. Still being ignored. I proceed to walk up the stairs and cheer the enemy on. I walk across a small bridge and talk the flag. I continue to walk down another set of stairs. Then walk out the front door. Game over! Hahaha

since the game ended in 5-10 min there had to be a second game.

This time I take off my camp jacket. This game had less people bc many left after the first game. I would say 20 on 20. I begin to walk to the side entrance and get lit up like I deserve. Luckily I could ring a belland get back into the game. By now my team is on the castle walls. I manage to get up the same stairs I used last time. I proceed to walk by the bridge but the other team is holed up on the 2 ends in safe areas. They were well covered and would have been holed up for some time. As I walk towards them they aim their guns at me. So I continue to walk towards them and they suspected I was on their team. So I sat next to a girl and talks to her about foggy goggles and some other stuff. I hear the 5 minute warning. So then I walk across the bridge grab the flag, drop it down and surrender before I am impaled. During this time my teammate takes the flag and we win again.

Moral of the story...guns don't win game, players do!

man, i wish my local field had something cool like that. we dont even have air bunkers (set up) at sunol paintball park. crappy plywood houses and pallets screwed together. damn houses are death traps and spools never give you good cover. your ass or your foot is always sticking out.

not these bunkers. i want air bunkers, not dirty plywood boxes and spools. a castle sounds cool, even though i am a speedball guy.

Good stories. Sometimes the wits are better than the guns for sure.

When I was first new to paintball, the main field my friends and I would play at would be Challenge Park, outside of Chicago; way before it became CPX. Back then they charged $100 for a 2400 rnd case of RP Scherer(on top of the field fee!). Usually, my friends and I would spilt a case 4 ways and be happy about it. (when you were were badass if you owned an Automag or Autococker)

Since all the games were capture the flag woodsball it didn't always matter if you had a gun either. We were all out of paint one day but we still had to wait on a ride from one of our moms, so we decided to go out with just our guns with no paint. We played a number of games where one of us usually hung the flag. First we just sat around and dry fired at people who would stick their head out and run to a new spot when their heads were down. But soon we decided that it was weighing us down to even carry a gun. I remember one friend telling me he picked up a stick at one point and when someone popped up from behind a bunker he would point the stick at them and yell "Bang Bang Bang" and the opposing player would put his head down.
I'm pretty sure I've gotten more flag hangs in that half a day than the rest of my paintball life(Although, I can't really remember the last time I played capture the flag ), so I've got to hand it to 'no threat theory'.

And I've even got worked by someone having a gun but no paint recently when I went to this indoor place last year. At the end of the night there was only two other players, myself, and the ref. The ref decided to borrow and gun and come play and make it 2v2.
Unbeknowest to me, the ref he couldn't afford any paint, I think got a few rounds from his teammate, but he basically walked on the field without any paint.
For a few games he would stick his head out and make himself a target while his teammate honed in on me. Every time he stuck his head up he would relay what bunker my teammate or I was at. He would dry fire at me occasionally, and I just figured he was a bad shot. I got hosed by his teammate the rest of the night and after I talked to the ref he was like "Yeah, I had an empty hopper the whole time"
Goes to show a little communication goes a long way.

Yeah that was me...LOL. I have the flag to prove it..hahaha.

I also wish I had a field that was that good and close to me. It was a 2 hour drive. But the field is great and the snow was a sight.
