did any of you guys (probably older guys) play leisure suit larry way back when? |
Cool find man. I remember playing some of those other Sierra games like Space Quest. Unfortunately I was too young at the time to be able to enjoy the perverted shenanigans of Leisure Suit Larry.
|
I played the crap out of space quest IV That was oen heck of a game. I neevr beat it though. I made it into space and found a space mall, then i couldnt' figure out what i needed to do. I'd love to get the game back again and see what i could do, now that i'm older.

I have a vague recollection of being in a mall somewhere in the game. I ended up working at a fast food place in the game to make money to do something. I can't remember what came before or after, but I remember thinking, "What the heck am I doing playing a video game that simulates working at a fast food restaurant?" I'm sure the video game's creators got a chuckle by putting that into the game.
Years later, staring at some fish foating in a deep fryer, I started to realize how much of an impact video games have.....
And then I still walk around with the memory in knowing that one of the items they include in the "interstellar survival kit" at the beginning of game one was dehydrated water.....get it....dehydrated water....yup....grey matter being wasted on that....ahhh....video games.

i actually read an awesome article on that. "Dry Water" is real. It is single droplets of water encased in a substance (silica i believe). It is dry to the touch, but retains the properties of water.

Sounds like something that is used to augment, umm...mammarian glands.
Oh, and TSelanne, I thought I'd bring the cymbal discussion over here since this is more of the place for it. Yeah, Carter plays Zildjians and he is a beast. I've got a 21" HH Sabian Raw Bell Dry that's pretty much my main ride. I love it. That's why I got rid of the Zildjian. I'd actually love to have a 22" Bosphorus New Orleans Ride, but I haven't the $350 to drop on it right now.
I do like Paiste too, they make a good cymbal. I picked up that flat ride a while back, and although it sounds great, I don't do too much playing that calls for a flat ride sound. Still, it does sound good and it's one of the older black label 2002's. It's a 20" ride btw. I think Bonham used black label 2002's on most of the recordings with Zeppelin. Some people pay some serious money for those older cymbals. Check this ridiculousness out. 1K for a pair of hi-hats.
Ebay Paiste Sale
And don't even get started with those old K's. 3K for a banged up piece of bronze, WITH KEYHOLING! (I'm sure it sounds good though)
