Wow. Great idea for a thread! It's nice to know you guys! I am a semi-pro musician, bass player on weekends. My day job is a Nuclear Process Control technician. I test and monitor all the functions of the shutdown safety systems on our (Ontario Canada's) nuclear reactors. Pay is great, work is great, spare time..... not any more. Sad Haven't played paintball in 3 months. I'm so ashamed.

so, are you a Homer Simpson type or Jane Fonda type worker at a Nuke plant? or maybe somewhere in between?

Man! I gotta see that movie. I keep forgetting to look it up. I've heard about it a few times and sounds interesting.

That's cool. I'm currently going for Industrial design, which isn't really the same at all haha.

But in the winter, my hours get cut down too. I'm with you on that.

Basically I am going to school to keep my job. Funny how much Army training can help you get a job even without any prior experience. To be honest though I know how to do about 50% of my job. The degree plan I will be on will cover just about the rest. Smile

Fake it until you make it, brother.

Food and Beverage Manager at a hotel, I only supervise 11 people but I oversee a full service restaurant & bar, a gift shop, and all catering/banquets/meetings. I don't have any supervisors or leads so I work anywhere from 50-60 hours in a slow week, and MUCH MUCH more than that when we get busy.
