Ok, so I am getting a slight barrel leak on my FS7.

I can put my finger over the bolt tip, and it will build pressure.

So the leak guide says that I either have a scratched powertube tip, either of the 017s at the front of the assembly, or the 011 on the valve housing.

Are they referring to the 016 on the valve housing for the FS7? I could not find any 011 on the ICD inline cylinder page website.

I also had my coworker machine up a new powertube tip, so there is not any scratches there, and he even made it a thousandth or two smaller, just to make sure that it sealed (it has a 007 on the valve stem, so at worst I figured I could go down to a 006).

I replaced both 017s, the 016 at the back of the marker, and the 007 multiple times (I only have buna at the moment, UR on the way) but I figured buna would work ok for testing.

I am still getting a tiny leak.

now, when I have the assembly out of the marker, I can put my finger over the bolt tip and try to pull it when it is all the way towards the back of the marker and it will build a vacuum. also, if I pull the bolt all the way out and try to push it in, it will build up pressure. So I am guessing that the 017s and the 007 are good and something else is leaking......

Is there an o-ring in the solenoid manifold I should be looking at???

between the manifold and the body there is a couple, but I believe the only oring that could give you that leak is the 007. I never had any luck with the bunas, they leak like a seive in that location.

Yeah, buna sucks for that spot.

You can get that little delrin piece made? That is pretty sweet. I'd try on that is a thousand or two larger just for fun. Possibly less drag with a good seal.

ok, I will bite the bullet then and order some polyurethane o-rings for it.

yea, he will probably make a couple of extra, since he already has it setup, it does not take long to make some backups.

it is really nice to have a machine shop, and co worker who is a paintballer, at your disposal Smile

Also, when you install the delrin tube, make sure you seal it with teflon tape as well as pitying the oring on it.you would think the oring would be fine alone but I get leaks when I don't use tape.

ok, I taped the tube again, and swapped the stem o-ring again and I did not get a constant leak.

when I shot a stream of paint, you could hear it leak for a second and then seal up.

So I guess we are looking at the stem o-ring for sure, and I will have to get some UR o-rings, another $30 at mcmaster carr, haha (might as well get some 017 ones too.)

ssechriest - in my duro thread, another member noted that you had sent a viton o-ring and he said it worked fine.

have you been using the viton instead of urethane? any issues. reason i ask is that the viton are a LOT cheaper the UR.

I have not used the viton yet. I am waiting until i need to swap out. I wanted to get them tried since I can get them local, and they are MUCH cheaper. I can send you a couple if you want to give them a shot...

I've been using a 006 viton that sschreist sent me on my 04 FS for about a year now. No problems have popped up that I've run into. However, I haven't appreciably used my 04 during the last year. Probably has only seen a case of paint through it, if that.
