Back on topic, I am actually going paintballing tomorrow (rain or shine, been raining now for about 5 days).

So you have friends that love paintball. You have friends that don't care about paintball.

But do you have friends who think they care about paintball? One of my buddies thinks he loves paintball, but he can barely remember the name of his gun. He is also not very interested in learning to maintain it.

Yeah, I don't understand those guys. Why invest in a nice gun, and then just leave it factory (settings that is) and not maintain it?

The thing that kills me is he wants to get it an'ed now to some bright colors, which I am ok with. (At least he is not talking about spray painting it now) but he really needs to get regs on it first. Stock ICD regs are kinda poopy. I can deal with the LPR, but the HPRs are really hit or miss. He finally picked up a tank. It is a dye throttle and IMO, he needs to get the huge dye reg swapped out for something shorter.

Yeah one of my buddies had his Ego anno'd 2 shades of neon green. Kinda didn't like it myself, but hey, it's his marker. If it makes someone to get excited about playing then hey, it can't be all that bad.

Oh yeah, and I'm sorry I didn't listen to all the people bitching about GA. I think my fill nipple on that Myth I got has a slow leak and the output fluctuates almost 100 psi.
You know, as long as the tank works I say go with it. He can always find a different ASA to make it more compact.
As far as the regs, just let him borrow you Sidewinder for a day and take his stock ICD. You may both be surprised.

I will look at the consistency on his regs tomorrow. My sidewinder is within 3 fps if I recall correctly. Some ICD freestyle regs worked great. One of my friends (who moved east) put 150 or more cases through his stock NDFS7 and never had a problem. He still has the stock regs on there. The stock ICD HPRs that I have had do this clicking repressurizing thing a second or two after the shot. I have no idea what causes it, but it drives me bonkers.

The way I see it, if he is going to get it ano'ed, he should do all the stuff that he may want to do down the line now. That way when he gets it done in pink with silver accents, the new regs don't stick out like sore thumbs. I like bright colors, I am just picky about everything matching.

My gripe about the tank is that it is a 45/45, but my 45/68 with a ninja on it is just as long. It amounts to personal preference, but i know he likes it shorter. He loved the drop forward pictured here. When I got the long reg on my dye throttle stubbie changed out, it no longer had clearance to fit under there.

The ICD Hpr's ping due to back pressure from the Piston moving, there is no hole to relieve the pressure it creates in the bottom cavity.
