Should I use the paintballs?
Do it! Times are tough and free paint is free paint. It will also be nice to actually under bore paint.

Well, do it, but overbore the heck out of it. They are not going to fly straight anyway.

Do not put that through anything ICD. If you shoot that, shoot it through your ion.

Don't shoot it at people. That is not very nice and you are not a bad man.

I shot some of it, but not at anybody. I used it to replace the regs on my fs8. That stuff did not fly straight at all.

I check the sizing on it last night. It fit snugly in a .695 bore. When I did some testing with it, balls were getting caught in the neck of the hopper.

On an different note, I think that I had one of the best commercial paintball field experiences of my life today.

Ok, This will be from memory, during class, so I will probably miss stuff.

1. The field owner was super nice. When we first arrived, he came out to greet our group. This continued throughout the day. He went to each group of players to ask them how they liked the field and how their experience was going.

2. The owner, Cliff, raffled off a case of paint and two jerseys during lunch. He also had each player make a guess as to how many paintballs were in a water cooler jug. (I was way off)

3. Great reffing for a rec ball field. Cliff and what I assume was his son were constantly doing paint checks. They also carried rags and wiped down players between rounds.

4. This did not really apply to me as I have done this once or twice, but he charges a little more for a rental player to play. However, that rental player gets a new mask (an entry level mask) to keep as part of the deal. When they come back for their next rental, they get a discount. I have never worn a rental mask, but they look nasty. I also know that the treatment they get between days is a hose. I also saw Cliff pick up a rental players mask between rounds and cleaned it up really nice for him.

5. This field is does not currently have an airball field. This kinda sucks for me, but I am happy with that because he fields are pretty good. I will link to his webpage at the end. But he has this field that is a pile of dirt mounds that are really close together. I thought I woudl hate it, but I actually really liked it because it is very fast paced and all about moving up the field.

6. I would rather play with intermediate to advanced players. But they do not have enough staff right now to do this. The fields are also large, so two 5 man teams would not work well. BUT, they managed to consistently break up the teams very fairly. I did shoot a good number of rentals, I found myself gun battling good players almost every game.

7. There were alot of old school guns yesterday. I saw a sick quest, an impulse (bleh, but it is still old) a 2k5 timmy, and a great variety of new and old pumps.

8. Ten minutes or less from my house.

A few cons, but I am not really worried about them

-only 2500-3000 air.
-no airball, as previously mentioned
-TERRIBLE low end field paint. Normally I can compensate for inaccurate paint with volume, but the zing just kept chopping. At first, I thought it was my fs8, so I changed the detents, turned my lpr up a bit, and went one more bore size up. But, I borrowed a friend's G6R, and I had the same problem. Maybe the both of use should have overbored more. Btu it seemed like the only place the paint was breaking was in my breech. The easily recognizable yellow zing was bouncing off me all day. I actually had one bounce off my thick head.

A may add a few supplemental posts, but I should really pay attention in class.

9. On the pro list. - Subjective rules on bunkering. AKA, use your discretion. Don't go and bunker a rental or some kid on his 3rd or 4 time out. However, the surrender rule is completely retarded, so more advanced players can have at each other.

There is no real surrender rule. Thank god.

Sounds like despite a few drawbacks (paint probably being the main one) you've got a pretty good place to play like 10 minutes from where you live. Gotta support that.

Good to hear you had a good day.

Sounds like an awesome field! I love it when the field owners are personal with you.

Sucks about the paint though. Do they have the option for nicer paint?

Yeah, they did. I shot a few pods of it with the borrowed g6r. I also shot the yellow stuff through the g6r and it chopped. bleh.

ICD Thundercat + 5 year old paint + The stump in the back yard = A good laugh.

I have a paintball gun I can fire from the hip. hilarious. I am Clint Eastwood!

It is hard to get used to a right angle feed now though. I have been using vertical exclusively for four or five years now.
