well now, i have learned something. though did know how to pronounce the names; Corniche, Coup-aye(don't know how to do the accent on thee keyboard), and knew a little of the modern history but knew of the heritage. so you are working for a dealer, or these are private sales?

yes, Sunday weekend drivers. these are the cars that you motor out with, you don't drive them. the tweed jackets, faster summering caps and the basket with the wine, glasses, and blanket to have pleasant picnics in the country. but, the crazy thing is, these are also cars that when spurred on in the right way, they can be flogged like the dogs they are. not blazing 0-60 times, but enough to surprise you.

but thank you, i did learn something and learning is fun!

Wasn't trying to be condescending, just educating those with info they may not have known. Kudos if you knew that stuff.

Yes, the Shadow 2 and Wraith 2 like the ones we have were powered by 412 ci V8s That could easily motivate the carriage to audubon speeds. As you mentioned at over 3 TONS (and that's with a partial aluminum body and aluminum blocked engine) they did not do well in the 1/4 mile to say nothing of slalom or 60ft times! Smile

We are a dealer, so these are cars we bought for mild restoration and resale, won't tell you what we paid, people would throwup in their mouths. Smile We deal in alot of semi-classics as well as your typical daily drivers.

no condescension taken. i maybe mildly educated in older cars, but not everyone is. i have champagne tastes but beer budget when it comes to cars, kinda like paintball.

to me, RRs are about prestige and heritage. they represent the way the cars should be.

well, if you don't want to have the masses to throw up, pm me. i would like to know, but if you don't want to tell, i understand.

but it makes sense with your Celica. car resto can be in the blood. expensive hobby that if you do it right, can be real expensive on what you want to bring back.
