I was in the same boat as you when I first tried pump. I wanted to get a gun, but didn't know ANYTHING. He is what I learned from one new pump guy to another.

Get a nice pump kit. It is the main interaction between you and your gun. You will get so mad if your pump stroke is sloppy or ctaggered. Get a CCM. I had one, loved it. It was super quality. It's pricey, but they hold their value (ish) and are just really nice.

Get a pump with a single trigger. I have seen pumped superbolts and whatnot, and they just look weird, and I don't think they're as comfortable (I shot a pump'd outcast with the stock mech frame)

Get an autotrigger (they're fun, and useful)

I feel like a nice pump will coat you like 300-400. I dunno. Mine cost more, but I got a lot when I sold it.

Or just wait for Bob Long's new Marq based electro-pump. It's an inline poppit, electro pump, and it should be coming out soonish. It's only like $800!

Nobody has said the BL pump is electro, have they? Per NPPL rules E pumps are banned in the pump division, so this pump would only be a novelty item seeing as almost every single tournament series uses modifies NPPL rules

With a pump its all preference, I have a friend who LOVES stock wgp pump kits and hinge frames, most everyone else can't stand them, I have a sm1 dual rod pump kit with ss rods, and I sanded down my guide rod and removed the oring on the shaft, its different, and it was free Smile I like slingle finger slider frames and ccm 86 frames

The CCM kit is fine, but other are content with the GAT kit, SM1 KIT, Vendetta, Hooptie, PMP,Checkit or WGP kits, some people twist when they pump, and that causes binding with the pump kits that only have 1 guide rod and a pump rod, I don't have a problem with my SM1 kit

In my personal opinion, I see new players with brand new CCM pumps, auto triggering away and I wonder why they didn't just stick to semi, hence which is why I like playing tournaments that limit the amount of paint carried

Pump will do several things, it will help you snap shoot, since you have to make shots count, you also find yourself moving further, and faster, due to not only having less gearl but realizing the closer to the enemy you are, the better chance you have to eliminate them

I mean the BL pump is almost pure speculation at this point, no said it isn't either. Just throwing it out there.

The price of the BL pump isn't too far off, its rumored to be around 700ish

Let's break down a CCM t2/ 6.5

A marker with polished anno and complete barrel kit

$700, and I just checked they're current sales on ebay

So if the BL has some high efficiency engine, fully mechanical with fancy milling and a single finger trigger frame, along with a BL direct mount asa and decent barrel, or even a barrel kit, it will easilly compete with the CCM, since for one, CCM has no style to it, I for one hate rail mounted asa's, and there barrel kits only have a 2 inch control bore and 12" total barrel length, when most players prefer 14" for airballl due to the ability to wrap and manipulate bunkers

I think BL has been around long enough, he knows what players expect, I don't think they're dumb enough to release an electro with double trigger frame with a pump kit slapped on, but you never know..lol

I mean I'm sure it won't just be a Victory with a pump kit on it. Bob Long is a smart guy. it be a sexy, macroless dedicate dpump gun. I'm sure it might have an option to be electronic or something. I'm not super hip on pump stuff, I wasn't making any conclusive statements.

No. I just didn't think old bob would make a pump gun. Seems that he usually is with market trends. I guess the market is going nostalgic. Guys like us love pumps but kids only like to put their marker on psp or full auto and shoot like 30bps with their pimp'd out egos and rotors. It is actually good to see them making a come back.

Brad, i would go with a list of what you want and stick to that as much as possible. something like this:

bodies: centerfeed or rightfeed? rightfeeds are cheaper, centerfeed more plentiful with better looking milling options.

trigger frames: slider or swing? i have a slider and that's what i learned on when i shot cockers. some people like the swings. choose on what you like.

body style: full size, mini, half block, mid blocked. these are personal choices.

then looks. you can either look at the premade guns for sale on forums or scrounge parts and build it yourself.

anytime someone asks about guns, i find it hard to suggest one thing, since people like different things, like Rudz said. then you need to find something you like and go from there. your experienced enough to know what you like and what you don't. so look around and see what is out there.

^What he said

Not Egos are bad or that rotors are either. Or even that the two combined are. Just saying a 10yr old kid with an ego10 or what ever the current one is that doesn't even know how to clean and lube properly is just horrifying.

It's fine haha. I only pumped for about 3 months, so I don't really know what I'm talking about.

But 10 year olds with shiny new Ego 11's, lets not get started down that road haha. I could go on for hours about my worst "new kid/nice gear" story
