Trying to get a hold of the cheapest board i can find for a project gun i'm working on (Project Mandarin [think Ironman]). Anyways, So i'm aiming to find a stock ICD board. I'm open to w/e people think i could make use of, but here are some necessary guidelines i gotta stick to:

- can't require an LCD screen to adjust settings, as i've got very little space to work with.

- i'm assuming if there's no lcd screen then there must be dipswitches.. so perhaps the first guideline fulfills this one.

and to stir some imagination, here's an old pic of what my project desk looks like. Other parts are on their way here.

First off; what frame is that? Thing looks insanely cool. Off some sort of weird sear-tripper?

And ICD boards are pretty small, but the stock ones aren't THAT small, and lack a lot of basic functionality ( dwell, among other things).

Maybe get a UTB (super small, super customizable). Actually, Bushmaster.pm/fs boards are pretty small. Probably not a bad way to go (so long as it isn't stock).

It looks like a trigger frame from a diablo marker.

lol y'know what? that's actually exactly what it is. IIRC it's from a Smartech A005.

Goddamnit! That's what i forgot to put for my guidelines. But if stock boards don't really have adjustable dwell settings, guess i'll need to edit the thread title too now.

And as far as the UTB goes, yea it seems like that would be an instant solution for what i need... my only issue is the +$50 price tag. i've somehow managed to not have to spend more than like 20 something for any individual part going into this. I found a carbon fiber barrel the other day for 10 shipped on mcb. Even that 3way humphrey noid cost me $16 total after fixing it with another broken noid. If the UTB ends up being my only choice, then i might as well wait around for timmy WAS board to show up on IOG for 30ish.

If prie is an issue, you can sometimes get boards (chaos, NOX) on here in the $25-$30 range. That would actually be a pretty good bet (assuming you have a bushy harness already, ICD boards require intricate, big plug-y harnesses).

well this would be the second time i've rigged up a timmy 14pt harness from scratch, so that probably shouldn't be anything i can't handle hopefully. I've got a plastic bin full of wires, sockets and crimps. i'm dying to get a board so i can start dremeling out a place for it, then i'll be able to start working on the plexiglass grips. got this sheet of it in my closet waiting to be cut.

the board you see in the picture i can't use because i think the wattage isn't high enough to actuate the humphrey noid. meanwhile that same board cycles the 4/5way noid in my 2k2 timmy just fine. So i took out the board that was in my timmy (2k4 frenzy board) to test it with the 3way noid. That frenzy board cycles the 3way noid fine...... but it needs an LCD . hence, how i've arrived at this dilemma in the first place.

[oh and just ignore that MAC33 noid.. i'm not using that at all. lol hope that didn't confuse anything.]

btw does the led light for the bushy harnesses have 3 wires going to it or 4?

PS: yea spitlebug was telling me all about keeping an eye out for (man, i had to copy that conversation to a notepad) chaos and predator boards. Seems like they're pretty elusive.

Old Bushy boards are adjustable, but bulky. Newer are smaller, but non adjustable. Look for a chaos. Predators are rarer than hen's teeth. That or a stock droid board. Let me dig through the box when I get home. I may have something.

Why not just use a capacitor with the humphrey?
