So, I have to mow close to 2 acres (the rest is woods) and my old mower took like 12 hours. So I finally said I need a new mower and the wife actaully agreed.....yeah I was really surprised about that one.

Any who, I got a Husqvarna 46" zero-turn mower. I got it from a local dealer and it was $150 less than every other box type store.

This thing is so dang fast! I mowed a small section of my back yard that is fenced. Normally this takes about 25ish minutes to push mow cause I couldn't maneuver the riding mower back there. Well even the rider would have taken at least that long too. The new mower took it down in like 8 minutes!

Well no pictures yet but I'll get some soon. Oh and it has a place for my beer and a sammich.

i did a summer at my local county park and every week i was on a mower, a Toro 456 Groundmaster. 6' deck, hydrostatic transmition, damn near zero turn. it made mowing the grass fun, especially when the park and zoo where damn near 90 acres.

when i went back to a regular push mower, mowing the grass lost its fun.

My mower is such a piece of junk. The deck adjuster is broken so it mows at an angle.

^I bet it is really good at doing slopes then.

I got a yardmachines one from home depot a couple of years ago. It is like 10x better than anything we had before. I would love to use a riding one sometime, but have we don't have the yard for it.

I enjoy ours. Craftsman hydrostatic with 42" deck. Alot better than the ancient death trap we used to have lol. The last time I used it (the death trap), it shook so hard you could hear it down the road, inside, upstairs, and it burned through a full thing of oil in under 30 minutes. That was when we decided it needed to go into retirement lol. So then we put it in front of the garage and shot it with our pb guns Laughing

And this is why you are the ICDO Turd. I'm still beating around on an old Craftsman. The weekend usually goes like this: mow for a half hour, repair for an hour. Lather, rinse, repeat. And I had to mount my own beer holder. (3" PVC scrap, cap and deck screw through the fender. Next I'm going to mount a reclining bucket seat because I fear that I'll own this one for a looong time.

oh, I like the pvc cup holder idea. I hadn't thought of that one. I would just mow for a bit, go kill a beer, mow some more and repeat.

Funny story though, my wife called me this morning scared a vagrant was living in the garage attic and smoking....I went home, turns out the "smoke" smell was just the new mower sent (finish burning off the engine)...very funny stuff.

Man, 12 hours of lawn mowing, even though it's a good way to get out of the house and away from the crazies, would push me to insanity too.

However I am fortunate (or unfortunate depending on how you look at it) to have a small yard. I went out a few years ago an got one of those self-powered push mowers. (I am one of those people who thinks atmospheric carbon is somewhat of an issue and the reduction thereof is beneficial.)

Geez, I never knew mowing 50 square yards of lawn could be so difficult. I would glady take a rider at this point.
