Don't get me wrong, they look like sweet markers, but idk why they are $2k sweet.

And the funny thing, those foregrips(where they house the battery?) do not make those markers look super freaking light.

Nobody, thanks for posting up the sweetness though. If I had a mag I'd take it down to the docks around here and take a pic with it shoved into a carcass of the Thunnus alalunga that are starting to be delivered to the processors.
A real 'Tuna' mag.

I sold that satin purple SFL for around 4k, so, just a little fact, they routinely sell for 2k to 3.5k, why? because Mags are freaking machine guns that run forever. an Xmag will still net anywhere from 800 to 1.5k, I know, because I sold my last one for 1.5, The fact that there was probably 75 to 100k worth of mags in the picture says alot, and that was just for the most awesome mag contest, thats not even all the guns that were at the event, everyone had atleast 2 or 3 or a dozen more mags in there vehicles. all with the same valve design and still kicking, even with some of the electros going on 11 or 12 years old and the mechs dating to the early and mid 90s. So I'd appreciate it if the Mags got as much respect as the Mag guys offered the ICD guns at the event.

Rudz, I have plenty of respect for AGD. My buddies back in the 90's had some mags. One guy had the RT right went it came out and a Zgrip frame on it. I still think that was one of the coolest guns ever. I'm familiar with the old mags and I know that you literally could, shove it in the body cavity of an albacore tuna, hollow out a hole for a hopper and barrel and use it normally. Heck, it would last a lot longer than any other electo and plenty of mechs in that condition.

I'm just going to put this here

Rudz, I think a lot of it is ignorance of the peculiarities of PL mags. I know what a Mag is, I have shot a few, and like them. But as far as knowing the market and how many are out there, I'm lost. So, while I think the SFLs are awesome (but not as awesome as the X, IMO) I don't see a 4k marker, I see a very nice, dependable marker.

However, knowing that they are 4k markers makes me want to invest some of my retirement in a few...

PostPosted: Wed Aug 10, 2011 11:58 am    Post subject: Re: 20K+ of Mags

It all started a few years back, the xmags were selling around 1200 to 1500 and SFL emags were popping up for sale again, usually around 800 tp 1200 bucks, Atach one and Greg Knight each owned about 20 some odd xmags each, so finding one was hard.

Now I wanted an SFL and I passed up two because I didn't like the colors, when the next one popped up, it was purple, not my color but id waited long enough. So I throw in an offer of 1200 and I expect its done, no? I got in a war that drove the price up to nearly 2k for that SFL, I won but I single handed almost double the going rate of the SFL emag, fast forward two years and the SFLs are all selling for 2k, but none have been for sale lately, I needed cash so I put my SFL for sale? My price? 3500 bucks, the offers came from everywhere and in the end I received more than my asking price.

Now SFL emags are routinely sold for 3500 to 4000 bucks a piece. Why? Because. I said so. If an SFL owner were to sell his for 500 bucks or so, the market would change, but I don't expect anyone to sell themselves that short.

I don't think that one guy selling his SFL mag for $500 would change the market. It would be a blip on the graph really. I guarantee the guy who buys the $500 SFL mag would never sell it for $500 so there in lies the flaw in that thinking.

If there are only 10 handmade Ferraris (pick a model) in in the world and some schlub sells one for $1.00...that doesn't mean the other nine owners would take a penny less for theirs. you feel me? Nor would the guy who bought the $1.00 Ferarri sell it for that price in the future.

what could seriously effect the price? serious economic depression worse than we see now....somebody uncovering a lost cache of 500 SFL's sitting in a warehouse, flooding the market....etc. the latter of the two not likely to happen...the former....well, we;ll just wait and see. Smile

let's put it this way. how many Thunderstrucks are there? if someone who had a missing one came up and asked for $1500, who hear would pay for it? the rest of paintball would look at it cock-eyed but to us, its well worth the price, since they are so rare(comparable numbers made of each). now, to use what Rudz said, if somoene said, give me $200 for a TS, then that would effect the future prices of TS that could go on the market.

its supply and demand. if one goes for a certain price, then effect future prices for everything else. look at the Ion and yearly releases of the top line guns. before the Ion, guns held prices where a top of the line gun would be worth somewhere between half to almost the retail price in the used market. after wards and the yearly flooded market, guns loose half their worth in 6 months, and in 5 years, nearly 3/4's the price. hell, B2Ks are worth what, a 10th of the retail? i remember them for being around $500, now a basic model with nothing special is what $50, maybe $75?

granted, their aren't the lovers of Mags here as AO or BEO, but the same should go towards ICD here, and else where. PBN, AO, MCB, what are people saying about ICD? probably the same thing when a Frostbite or Flame comes up, like these SFL Mags here.

Yeah, I bet people would scoff at the prices some b2ks go for. Its all about what group you fall into. I wouldn't pay a yarns for an intimidator, but to intimidator people, a ripper 1 is worth that.

Well, I completely agree, and I'm going to expound on those thoughts. Marker prices, as a whole, are not based on fact, but on group perception. That's the reason I frown heavily on people telling sellers that their marker isn't worth $150, but $75. If we aren't willing to pay $100 for anear stock Bushy, we shouldn't expect to get $300 for a PL, unless we are selling to FGB. I used to be able to buy Venoms for $275. Anyone want to sell me one for that now? FGB has pished the PL market sky high, and I am glad to see it. As it sits right now, the best place to sell your ICD for maximum profit is eBay! Ask Steve, he's done it pretty decently, and that's exactly the opposite of what it should be.
