When I had mine I think I had to use a lighter one to get the proper FPS out it.

I'm going off of memory for quite a while but I think I ended up with a stock dwell.... 10mS? or 12 mS.
LPR setting whas around 55 psi..... I can't really remember. Sorry. I'll go back and check my threads to see if I posted it anywhere...

Here's the quote from my thread. I was using a ACP lightened hammer and a lighter spring. I remember I had kept going lighter and lighter until the oring wouldn't seal. I can't remember what spring I ended up on. You might be able to find out somewhere in the thread I made linked below the quote.

When you're running your marker on the hairy edge, a bolt with orings has too much friction. That being said I'm still running 80 PSI on the LPR with a dwell of 12 ms but the HP is at 210 for around 280 FPS. I know, strange #'s but the hammer is very light and the Empire valve doesn't seem to compensate for higher HP pressures as much as I expected. I thought with the AA function of the valve I wouldn't need nearly as much force to open the valve but In practice now I see it only helps a little bit. |

Mine has a MUCH lighter spring. Dwell is at 9. Don't remember pressures off the top of my head.

Yeah, the friction is a killer.
I work at a dentist hand piece repair facility, and they have tons of polishing equipment. I have just been polishing like crazy lately. I'll try a polish on the valve stem, and valve and see if that helps.

I remember I had to shorten the valve stem on mine to match a stock valve as the original length of the Empire valve stem was much longer and caused alignment issues with the valve opening before the bolt intake hole was fully exposed to the air supply through the body.
I don't know if they were all like that or if it was simply a question of quality control.
