Like the NOS Empi shifter for my Bug? some evil witch sniped me on the last one I saw on eBay 7 years ago.

Like these?

I owned an 86 300z and finding good parts was very hard (not to mention expensive) the car was a lost cause unfortunately.

The choice was between this and an older z (240-earlier 280) but there was no way I had the cash for one worth owning. And I didn't want to buy one right before winter so this was the best choice.

No, the one I am after is polished wood with a black inlay shift pattern. I have the t shifter on my 75 and never saw the point in the trigger shifters for the VW tranny. You have to press down on the shifter to get reverse to start with.

old Z's are spendy to restore. but at least they have an aftermarket industry for them as opposed to other japanese nostalgics. Nissan actually still makes parts for some of the old Z's.

Yeah they are pricy to restore but it would be so worth it. I have a special place for them in my heart and if I ever get my hands on one that is in good shape (really hard to find in illinois) it would fulfill a long awaited dream.

On topic: I love love love my subaru! I've driven on a few different terrains (light ice, gravel roads and asphalt) and it just performs fantastically. It is extremely tourqy for a four cylinder. Other than the over steer through fast corners it is just too much fun to drive.

I have a full summer planned for auto cross and modifications. I want to see how my cousin does in his 383 sbc rx7 and I've got a bunch of people racing this year. So we should have a full crew and a lot of fun, my cousin and I are also planning on going road racing next year so we've got a lot of a lot of work ahead of us.
