Bush was a cheerleader!
He really was though.
I voted for him.
B4 the original gulf war in the 90's our intelligence told us that Iraq would be 6 months or something like that to making a nuclear bomb or an ICBM, when we did finally get there, it was estimated he was actually about 5 weeks from it. Not only that but did you all forget the reason we hate the M.E anyway? Terrorism, saddam promoted and might have been involved in it. He paid suicide bombers familys if they did just that. Bush going to Iraq was reasonable and smart IMO but he used the wrong reason, if we would have just got the UN, it would have been a lot better and we wouldnt be having this convo, everyone would love him. Don't be surprised if in sept./oct/nov. we find osama, he is a politic after all, they have strategies.

It is my firm belief that this will go down in history as one of mankinds greatest moments...one time that we finally stood up against the tide and stopped debating and actually did something worthwhile in the great scheme of things.

I was there.

and those soldiers (not sure if you went over with the armed services or not) do not get nearly enough credit for what they did, sacraficed, and went through....

another thing about the nukes... you guys can also check into an little known Isralie f-15 airstrike that crippled saddams nuke building capability sometime in the early 90s i believe

i cant vote in this election, but in 2008 ill surely be voting for bush lol

Uhm, if he wins this time that would be two terms, he won't be running then.

Personally I can never vote FOR a man ... has publicly stated that in the first 100 days of his 'presidency' would apologize to the Arab world for the previous 4 years, would pull all American troops from Arab soil and would stop the war on terrorism.

I feel similar to you. However, I think you'd agree that Bush did the right thing - but with the wrong stated justifications.

I know first-hand that we were absolutely, 100% in the right to go back to Iraq and remove Saddam and his established leadership cadre from a position of power.

Using the "War on Terrorism" as the primary reason was a bad idea, though, because now it's left him open to criticism of his actions. WMD? Absolutely. That was 100% known before any Allied forces set foot on Iraq soil for Gulf War II.

Keeping us there is useless, though. Iraq has a ratified consitution, an internal police force, and the previous regime has been removed. Keeping American troops there doesn't seem to have a lot of justification anymore.

I probably won't vote in November - because I likely won't have citizenship. If I were a US citizen, I feel I'd probably vote against Bush - because I believe change is a good thing. Keeping conservative leadership is unhealthy - we need to periodically go from conservative to liberal - AND VICE VERSA - every so often, to help keep ourselves level as a country.

Then again, that's just my $0.02.

Hey guys...I didn't write that part about voting for Bush a THIRD term! InfamousJim did....oh I'm going to get you man!! Laughing

Darryl...yes we have similar on the justification. I don't see why that part is such a major focus (yes I do...politics). Change may be good, sometimes...but not THIS change, for the reasons I posted a while back. Give me a GOOD alternative and I won't vote for Bush. Unfortunately here in the States we end up with choosing the 'lesser of the evils' most of the time. Osama and the rest are really hoping that Kerry wins the election...and that's scary.

I DO think we need to vacate Iraq on schedule. The Council needs to step up (as they are trying to do) and take control of the country. Let's give it back ASAP.
