Hey Guys,
I recently got a stock B2K4 hand me down that I've been messing around trying to tune it and add some nice little ups. Pretty new to ICD guns but very interested in getting involved in some projects and rebuilds so would appreciate any feedback or guidance.

Long story short is I cant seem to get the velocity >250 fps. The refresh on the stock reg was poor so added a new CP reg but even with opening up the LPR and CP reg cant break the 250 fps mark. Also checked all the O-rings (other than on the solenoid) and they look fine and no leaks.

In terms of performance, the first shot kinda plops out then once it gets rolling the shots are fine and consistent. I was thinking perhaps its something in the LPR but really in the end have no idea where to look....

Does anyone have suggestions or perhaps request any pictures you need of parts that could provide some insight into the issue?

have your cleaned it out of all the old gunk yet? if so, what did you use when you lubed it up?

what is your HPR pressure set at? how are you setting the LPR?

sounds like gummy lube. I would tear down the ram and rebuild it with new rings and a good lube.

So in terms of cleaning I cleaned the ram and use hater sauce as lube. Do people suggest I go back to Gold cup oil?

I had my old stock reg cleaned and re-lubed at a pro shop but the refresh wasn't doing well so used the new CP reg. I haven't messed with the LPR too much but took it apart at a shop as well and replaced the o-ring on the LP Reg piston but still didn't change the fps.

In terms of settings:
LPR -- 220 psi
HPR -- will have to check tonight but believe a tech set it at appropriate default level.

Whoaday.... Lpr is way high. Lpr only needs to be enough to cock the bolt then another 1/4 turn.

220pis for the LPR?! I didn't even know they went up that high! are you sure you've not switched them around?

The hpr needs to be around 220 psi, then you screw the LPr in until the bolt cocks, and the noid vents out. After that you back it out about 1/4 of a turn.

From that point, you use the HPR to adjust your velocity

Okay sorry i must be getting them mixed up the gauge reads 220 above my reg. In terms of the LPR we had followed those above directions about turning it til the bolt pops then 1/4 less. Maybe a stupid question but how do i read the pressure on the LPR since the gauge is for the HPR.

you can either try to find a LPr tester for sale, or tap into the LP lines (which would not attempt on a bushmaster)

In reality though, as long as you follow that advice, you'll be good.

1. Ram -- Replace o-rings and relube.
2. Reset LPR pressure.

Other questions?
- Does anyone suggest I look at anything on the solenoid?
- Is there a need to disassemble the LPR and replace any o rings on the valve seat or LPR Reg body?

explore the solenoid at last resort and at your own risk (and at a clean work station, LOTS of little pieces)

It sure wouldn't hurt to clean out the LPR either
