A lot of money into a Mini.

I would stop putting money into the Halo and buy a cheap v2 prophecy, or save for a z2.

Why? no field much less a tourney will let me fire faster then 15bps. My halo can feed that and more and it was cheaper and I love customizing my stuff. Making it my own, and well this halo and mini are definitely my own! Razz

Not to mention with all the upgrades I have in my halo already, It doesn't break paint, and never causes any problems, I had a couple problems when I first cut it down but that was user error, a broken eye 'socket'. The Virtue RF upgrade is because I always wanted it, it will finish off my virtue setup and it can go in any hopper I do buy in the future anyway.

As for the New Speed feed, purely cosmetic to match the ano job when finished same with the new tank cover. and the suicide shell, again more or less for easy of cleaning. the speed feeds are universal anyway, so it can be used on other stuff too.

I have no reason to buy a new hopper. Between the virtue board software with auto unjam, a force unjam button, and all the controls in the world.. it works wonders. and the speed wheel well it did improve speeds.

Battery life on Prophecy, Rotor and Spire loaders is phenominal compared to the old Halo. The Halo shells break and crack a lot. Especially when you play twice a month if not more.

I had a Halo with an s4 drive cone, speed feed, Cheetah board and speedwheel and SPD custom shells. I had multiple Halos, and sold them all when I got a v1 Rotor.

Then sold my v1 and v3 Rotors when I got a v2 and z2 Prophecy. Gonna try a Spire next, if I like it, I'll sell the z2 and keep a velocity and v2 proph as back ups.

The thing you have on your side is that all halo upgrades are cheap now. If you keep it, I'd look into "The Bone" rechargeable battery pack.

my shell is not brittle its been banged around a lot. not a good reason to upgrade, maybe if my shell was broke .. yea .. but not when my shell is perfect condition and If it was broke, I'd just get the suicide shell faster. $30 for a new shell over $150 for a v3 rotor or $200 for a spire is not a smart move when I have a fully up'd halo that works perfectly fine.

Battery life? really? lol, Im sorry but this is also a poor reason to toss everything i have invested in my halo, to get a rotor or spire. Batteries are cheap. I don't mind replacing my batteries every 3-4 months.. they get replaced that often whether they are dead or not.. i do my gun batteries at the same time.

Lastly, I like my halo, period! I like the name, I like the look, I like how it works, I like that its fully up'd. I'm not just going to get rid of it, I have more invested in it then I could ever get back, money and sentimental value.

It works, and it feeds fast enough for me to play and keep up with anyone anywhere, I have no reason to buy another hopper.

On top of all that. I'm one that loves to upgrade and customize my gear. So what I'll spend $150 on a v3 rotor... then spend more money on a virtue board, virtue paddles, virtue speed feed, and guess what Now I've spent $250+ on a hopper again. Why? My halo works, I like it, it looks cool, it doesn't break paint, it feeds MORE then fast enough.

make GOOD reason to toss out a perfectly good hopper and spend 150-200 on a new one just to want to upgrade it and I might listen

we aren't all made of money to just throw things away, because they aren't the newest hottest thing.

You have given two piss poor reasons why I should stop with my halo, batteries and brittle shells, well my shell isn't brittle and isn't damaged. I don't mind putting batteries in it.. so why should I.. My thinking makes sense. your reasons for buying a new hopper do not.

I just replaced my halo shells... I got them from Odyssey when the halo first came out as a gear drive, sent it to them a couple weeks later for the belt upgrade and red shells. I played 3-4 days a week including 5man tournaments and non stop since 2001. Im still running the stock board, eyes, battery setup. I agree that battery life is no reason at all to drop 200$ for another loader that does the same thing a Halo does. And WTF is the point of a feeder pushing 30bps anyway, any good tourny or league worth its salt is capped somewhere from 10-15bps these days.

Maybe I got lucky but if it works for you then dont change it!

You can buy a v2 prophecy for 40 bucks or a v1 rotor for 100

The damn battery cover on halos breaks all the time, and I used to crack shells once every two months

I was replacing batteries once every month, month and a half, and before tournies. Using 6 good AA batteries that much and buying new shells all the times adds up. You can spend 60/70 bucks on shells and batteries every season, if not more. And the v2 prophecy will still out perform it. You can choose the small, medium or large nose cones, have a metal feedneck and has the magna clutch system.

You can keep your Halo as a back up, since you've spent so much money on it.

You can't upgrade a prophecy unless you add the rf chip and speedfeed, they're great out of the box

LOL then you need to take better care of your gear... I've been using the same halo B shell for well over a year, I've never broke a battery door, or a shell. so your 60-70 dollars a year bit is once again .. mote.

I don't like the prophecies, period, I just don't, I won't buy one. Why would I buy a V1 Rotor, when V2 and V3 Work better? V1's from what I hear had lots, of problems.. so why would I buy an older problematic hopper? and isn't there something about the v1's can't spin the motor backwards to auto unjam? my halo can...

Please explain to me how a V2 will out perform my halo? IF I put a halo on my gun set for 15bps, my halo will keep up perfectly fine, no if and's or buts.. if i put a V2 or a Rotor or a bleeding spire, on that same gun set the same way, it will still only feed 15bps.. so again.. mote. I run my gun on the field regulation.. So how exactly will it out perform my current hopper?

I would never change the nose. I have no uses for it. metal feedneck might be nice, but not worth tossing my hopper out and buying a new one.. and im not buying a used hopper just for the sake of buying a hopper.

the clutch meh.. you obviously haven't looked into the virtue board for the halo, it does everything and more, I can control, motor speed, idle speed, ball stack monitoring, ball tension, motor torque and more.. I have no need to buy a new hopper plan an simple.. my halo doesn't break paint and feeds faster then field regulations..

you want me to upgrade my hopper so bad.. buy the spire like your saying and give me your rotor, otherwise your kicking a dead horse, you cannot make a point valid enough for me to toss out a perfectly good working excellent condition well maintained hopper with all the ups I want for a stock hopper that's no better then what Im using if you follow all field regulations.. IE 15bps.

and as I said, I wouldn't just stop with a stock v3 rotor, i would want the virtue soft paddles and the virtue board and speed feed, etc.. because I enjoy making it my own and upgrading working on my stuff.

Edit: Virtue board also has battery saving codes, like idle speed, feed speed, pulse when empty, and a couple other things...
