The plunger inside the lpr housing has a little 'nipple' sticking out. Grab onto that w the pliers and pull out the plunger. The threads on the housing are for the adjustable knob that you already took off, not the plunger. It can be a pain to take out, especially if the plunger oring is ripped up and lodged in there.

I'm not sure about a rebuild kit for that hpr, but for the lpr yes, there are rebuild kits available. Let's get that plunger out first. You may only need an oring, and that's easy.

Took the lpr the rest of the way apart and found a disenigrated o-ring, so that probably explains the lpr leak. But all the rings on the hpr are good as far as I can tell.

Well so far so good. Clean up that hpr anyway. Take off the orings, wipe em down and clean the oring grooves. Get it to 'new' condition. Try that along w a new oring in the lpr and air it up, see what happens. If you have any superlube spray, give it a quick shot in the air line before you air up.

Any idea on the o-ring sizes? I wouldn't mind getting some for replacing the o-rings on both regulators to be sure, or if nothing else spare parts.

I was going to suggest you check the bushmaster FAQ for the oring sizes, but I went to check myself and couldn't find 'em. I know they're around somewhere...... just about everything else is there though. Fivestring's awesome writeup spells out many of the issues you're having. Worth a peek.

the Vigilante is an Air America reg, which isn't bad, but finding a spare oring kit new is damn near an impossible task since they closed up shop just about the same time as ICD quit paintball.

you can ask Oring monkey or check some of the reg FAQ on PBN for sizes. they are standard orings, but will take time to match the exact sizes.

If you have an Ace Hardware nearby, they have a lot of orings; it's seldom I can't find the right one from them.

If you still have leaking from the hpr after cleaning you may just want to get a new hpr altogether. I've been down that road of re-building an old reg, only to have it creep after 200 shots on the 'new' orings/seals. Sometimes starting over is just better.

There is a Lowes nearby, may check there. I wouldn't mind getting a new regulator just not sure where to start looking. I like the CP regulators I've seen with no guage and the line going directly into the bottom or back side of the regulator.

I'd stay away from CPs. They work and are dependable, but there are better options out there. How much are you looking to spend on a HPR? AKAs are my favorite, but they go for 50 or more used and about 75-100 new, depending on the model.

You can find an old Dye Hyper II for fairly cheap. I think they are ugly, but they work well.
