Not sure if anyone is looking for a good reciprocating saw(sawsall) but home deopts deal of the day is one of the bext I have seen in months.....
www.homedepot.com/p/t/...=100593260
If you do buy make sure you register the item when u get it as rigid has a great lifetime warrenty on all their items, just have to register it.
I may keep updating this thread as I find deals on stuff like this, I know harbor freight has stuff for cheap but I will stick to main branding items for now.

I don't know much about that brand, but the price is quite good. It's low enough though, that if i wanted to buy it, i'd do some research first.

Ridgid is Home Depot's brand like Kobalt is Lowe's. Ridgid makes good stuff. Much more solid than Dewalt and other little brands. Makita or Ridgid are the way to go in my opinion.

yah the only sawsall better than rigid would be milwaukee or mikita. We use mikita and Rigid drills and drivers and the main difference is Rigid warranties their cordless batteris for life, which is awesome....anytime yours starts losing its charge or goes bad and they send u one for free.
Considering the price of lithion batteries now spending a little more on rigid is worth it if you never have to spend 30-50bux on a battery ever again.

Milwaukee makes the best sawzalls, hands down. And corded is definitely the way to go. I have a dewalt cordless sawzall at home and it burns through batteries way to quickly.
Rigid is better than Kobalt actually. They got their start in plumbing tools before Home Depot bought them out, so Rigid is popular among plumbers. If I were in the market for a new box of cordless tools, I'd be looking at Rigid or Milwaukee for sure.
My boss got me a Rigid 18 gauge pin nailer for Christmas from Home Depot's daily deal thing. I think it was 100 bucks or something; a steal.
Dewalt's quality sunk in the last few years. I think I got their last good generation drill five or six years ago. I was annoyed when the traded out the Jacobs chuck for the new one they are using. The drill I use at work has had its chuck replaced once and and the new one still doesn't tighten very well.

i am happy with my Porter Cable lithium ion drill and driver set. there are some things i like about Dewalt, but i think they are more of a name now, while all the other companies are improving quality. have a Dewalt grinder that i got for free, because i bought a chop saw for my friend for his birthday. power tools for presents, can't beat that.
also, did you know that Milwaukee copyrighted the name to sawzall, so no other company can call it that. sure, they are all reciprocating saws, but only one can be called a sawzall.

I have to say that I like my dewalt chop saws. The one I use at work is circa '06 or '07 and I like everything about it, other than the blade guard is shot. It is the compound miter saw. It is the old version of this with the stand. I have used the new version and I am not as wild about it, but that is probably because it was not nearly as broken in, they moved the adjusters to other spots, and as I recall, they added more safety features.
Grinders are pretty much all the same. Similar price, similar features. You gotta watch them though. They can do some damage.
My personal chop saw is the older model of this one.
You can't do much better than tools, things that shoot, things that go, or things to drink as a man gift.

that chop saw is very similar to the one my dad has, I have the rigid mid size model right now.
The chop saw and a little sander are the only dewalt tools we have left, we use to use their drills all the time and other tools when they were the big name for quality and power.....now not so much. You cant go wrong with rigid, milwaukee or mikita depending on the tool. If your never gonna do more than hand pictures on the wall or small home projects the new ryobi line can work well also, they just need a few more years on quality.

I'm tinkering with a set of Kobalt Li-on tools right now. Not blown away, but they seem solid. Let me drop the driver off a ladder a few mor times, though.
