i have a suscription to "SPLAT" magazine (paintball magazine) and in the newest one, there was a tippman that ran on propane. it said that the propane was similar to CO2 (velocity wise), but this new tippman, called the C3, is the only one with the technology to use it. the gun it self isnt spectacular lookin and its a pump gun (like a phantom). the tank looks like the propane tank you would put on a portable grill, so its about the same size as a 68ci nitro tank. oh yeah, they claim that just ONE fill of propane can get you 50,000 SHOTS!!!! yep, thats 50,000. so what do you think?

I think the gas airsoft guns run on propane or something very similar to it

I believe it ignites a small bit of the propane to propel the ball.

Sounds interesting. There's not much info about it yet, though.

i guess it would work something like a single piston inside a car. i wonder if the gun uses a spark plug?? that would be pretty cool

I think it's an awesome Idea. 50K shots per tank is mind-blowing, definitely a plus for people that live where they can't get Co2 or HPA fills. Personally, I think carrying a pressurized tank of propane is no scarier than carrying a compressed air tank that's filled to 4500psi. There's been a lot of ignorant comments about this gun on other forums ranging from "d00d 1 can m4ke a Fl4m3 thr0w3r 0ut 0f dis" or "When one of these explodes tippmann will have one helluva lawsuit on their hands." I'm sure Tippmann thought of these things already. Basically it's a solid idea that may prove to influence the design of future markers. Pump gun or not, it's cool and I want one.

the reason it's pump is because they couldn't safely make a semi gun. it wouldn't be able to ignite fast enough at over like, 8 bps i think it was. it would ignite through the whole system. thats why it's pump, and thats why compressed air is the way to go, and will be for a while. im all for finding a new, cheaper war to fill air, but propane shows little future for semi-auto fire if they can't control the explosion and such

one day i'll get a call for a propane leak. then my fd request the hazmat team. and when i get geared up in all my gear and sees the c3 and the tank i'm going to laugh...

propane is a big NO NO children. i rather have co2 leak than a propane leak.

ps. its not fun burning all the propane from a tank because the tank is leaking in the dead of summer (95 degrees 100% humidity). if i see you and a c3 next to the tank, i'm going to hate you for life Evil or Very Mad

more like no more face... or skin for that matter. thatd be a horrible way to die, and it'd be even worse for paintball. then we could all blame it on tippmann
