it's on the tank if you get the horizontal tank reg...they are pretty darn good regulators...maybe the best product SP has ever made...very consistent. Even though they are on the tank you will likely want to get a gas through/foregrip. Then again you can get the vertical max-flo.

I had nothing but troubles with the Maxflow on my old 2k1 Imp. Otherwise it was a great reg when it worked.

A note to be made is that the maxflo setup for a tank is adjustable and therefore your tank ends up being mounted to your marker "permanently", well sort of.

With pretty much all adjustable tank regs (not all) it will not be a "screw-in" type of tank any more. You will either have some sort of mounting colar or dovetail feature to mount it to your drop or rail.

I use a centerflag 301 adjustable tank regulator for my set up. In order to use the tank on 2 markers I utilize dovetail rails on the marker as well as macroline fittings. This enables me to remove the tank with a couple allen screws and mount it on my other markers.

Its pretty slick but probably about an extra 1.5 minutes of trouble.

I hope that sheds a bit of light on adjustable tank regs for you.

I really like mine and wouldn't trade it for a screw in.

i have a the the version before the newest version of the max flow, ive had it for a few years now, ive never had any problems with it, when it leaks, i just regrease an oring and its gone. but it would probably do me some good to update to the newest SP max flow reg and to the guy whp started this post, why are you against SP products? I have seen nothing but some of the best thing comes from them, i.e. Shocker line, Max Flo, Freak barrel, Ions, hot ass models, killer logo, and not to mention the rediculously awesome teams they have sponsored who win with their gear. I dont know how you could be against a company who makes probably some of the best markers, barrels, and tanks in the game...thats just my .02

Smart parts does have some good products.

They do have hot models.

Sure, they sponsor winning teams - but that has nothing to do with using their products; the teams they sponsor were winners BEFORE they were using SP gear.

Their business practices are deplorable, though, and disgust me.

D.

I almost went to smart parts for that reason and then they had the ion but by some dumb (and good) luck I ended up with a BKO
