reread section 11-47-64 a
it states that the only place you could play paintball is at a government approved field. I live over a .5 hour from a field so i play in my backyard but under the bill it is illeagal to play on privite and public proberity, also the field prices would go up because they would need to by a licence evey year.

Besides Private Property is just that. The little Piggy's dont come knocking on my door when I 'test' fire in my backyard. And I live In Cali, so I dont have much of a yard. You would only be in violation if you were in a 'public' environment.

If an officer tried to charge me for AwDW over a paintball 'MARKER' there would be a big lawsuit. Where I come from you cant die from getting hit by a paintball. May loose an eye but not your life?

I have already dealt with this issue where I live. I was stopped and 'detained' over walking 100ft or so from where we parked to my house with my 'deadly weapon' exposed. At the time, 6 years ago, paintball was still up and coming around here so I let it slide. But now-a-days, SUE THEM!

Loosing an eye to a paintball can be considered assault with a deadly weapon. In Nj people who rob others with a BB gun are charged with assault with a deadly weapon upon many other charges. A paintball gun here would be no different. Walking around your house with a paintball marker and using it to assault bystanders are 2 completely different things. You may sue but your not going to win if you injure someone.

You live 1/2 hour away from a field? Lucky :(....

I live maybe, wait, i have no clue anymore, so many fields were closed and scheduled to open some where else, but the field i use to go to was a little more then 30mins away.

I was no in way, shape or form talking about 'assaulting' someone with a marker. I was only talking about transportation and the fact that they make it seem like after the law passes you can not have a marker in public, unless it is in a case or on a approved field. So my thought was if I was out front of my house, minding my own business and said Police man drives by and sees me. Thus charging me/you/anyone with assault becasue you are in a public place. That is what I do not agree with.

If an actual assault takes place then by all means, charge them and send them to the 8x8.

I was referring to this shape and form...

But I agree that a police officer should not be able to charge you with assault if your walking around with your marker. I also agree with the policy of transporting in a case though. Even if you are outside your house minding your own business (unless your in you back yard). you seem intelligent to me and im sure you wouldnt go off busting shots in the air like your from the taleban. Unfortunately there are a few ballers with no common sense and the mess it up for the rest of us. The officer would be doing his job protecting bystanders from possible danger of stupidity and immaturity.

Yeah I agree with the transporting. Some kids are freekin idiots when it comes to paintball (like my gfs brother, SMACK). I mean I'm sure most of you have browsed for PB vids on YouTube and been assaulted with stupid kids with paintball markers. Terrible altho some are hillarious.

Yes, I have seen this several times. What you speak of is how most Americans view paintball. A bunch of kids shooting pedestrians from a moving vehicle. So if it helps prevent this, then I say go for it. I would hate for our sport to be ruined by such a thing.

I agree with the transportation guidlines. But of course I don't think it should be a primary offense. But there is no reason someone should have a loaded paintball gun with in arms reach. So I see no problem with it.

Also I'm not a supporter of backyard ball, or outlaw ball. I have seen too many accidents in my own life time and that doesn't even include what I heard about on the internet and news.

I live in RI and am all for this. If its up for vote ill be voting for it. What does it take to take tanks of gun during transport and what not? Only thing I can say I'm not in favor for is the trunk. Not because its to far away from me so i cant shot people in the face-zors and pwn them while driving with my 12 year old buddies. But if a CO2 tank is in the trunk during the summer heat there could be problems.

Adrain, backyard ball is fine, if your back yard is large enough. My yard is 6acres and no neighbors, i can play there if need be. But I've seen kids play in back yard less then an acre with neighbors all around. Thats just asking for trouble or to piss someone off. I feel like this law only bothers people under the age of 16. If you cant afford to pay a field fee and drive to the nearest field, you may wanna consider a new hobby
