Hello everybody.....I'm doing a project on the manufacturing of paintball guns(only the body) for school, but I can't find any information on the web. I was wondering if someone could help me out. I would like to find out what machines are used, what tools are used, and how tight the tolerances are and that type of stuff.

I have already called Fireball Mountain(a custom body/annodizing place) to see if I could get into their factory, but they said there was insurance problem....So if anyone can tell me anything, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

A mill is used greatly for bodies, and endmills are basically the drill bits used for them.

Yeah, I figured that much. I called Fireball Mountain back and asked a bunch of questions about what equipment they use. They said mostly they use a CNC lathe and a CNC mill to do all the work....All they have to do is deburr, polish and annodize the parts and they are done. He did say they had to do most of the tapping by hand though.

The one thing I'm not sure about is how the bores are drilled out. The owner told me that they bore the bore and then hone it to get a great finish. But he didn't tell me what machine is used or how it is done.

Just to add, if anyone knows anyone that may be able to help me out, please tell me.

Thanks

Bore, ream and then hone. Typically a large mill or line boring machine is used.
