Yes, would be fun to chrono the difference.... what did they mean about 'during installation'? Like putting the oring on the stem? Or sliding the pin into the valve?

Sliding the pin into the valve. Those orings always get messed up. Personally I don't think they are worth having on.

Ok, time for an update. With the exception of the noid and ram, every oring has been removed, every nook and cranny cleaned, and everything re-lubed. Including the HPR and LPR (which were both REALLY dirty).

The leak from the lpr was just from dirt - it was pretty ugly in there. The leak from the ram was really the valve. It was giving me fits for a while. I tried four different sets of orings, and all leaked (and these were from other working valves). Some worked with 2 or 3 wraps of telfon tape, but after a few fires, it would start again. Eventually I found a set that worked with 3 wraps of teflon tape. I dry fired a bunch, left it aired up for about 3 hours and tank pressure was the same, so it's finally good. Yay. For now I'm going to leave the oring on the stem.....

After hearing about others like pump polishing their valve stems, I decided to do the same. I used 600 and 1500 wet emery, then polished with E. But what's the point of a nice smooth stem if the place where it's moving isn't also polished? So I made this little guy out of a q-tip, electrical tape, and 1500 emery paper and used a drill w/water to smooth out the inside of the valve:

So I have two things left to do: 1- clean the ram, sand/polish, and maybe devolumize. 2- disassemble and clean the noid.

Anyone ever have a noid 'sing' to them? This one does that - when you adjust lpr pressure, it makes a little noise. Higher the pressure, higher the pitch. Kinda funny actually.... it was keeping me in good spirits during the valve episodes...

I thought I remember something about the manifold being 'higher flowing' than icd's stock parker manifolds. I was looking at both and couldn't tell the difference. Am I remembering this wrong?

FGB - where are the black/red venom pics?!? Don't go holding out now, you can still post in MOTM. Wink

They're somewhere, I will post them again.

Right now, I am keeping it in the T2 configuration, because the matching zeni trigger frame that i have, the trigger has been sanded, so it is super sloppy, and silver. It looks gross. So for, now, the venom is not stock (But it will be, after I get everything re-anno'd with some of my Christmas money).

I feel sorry for you TS, having to do all that work. I know there is nothing more frustrating. I spent days trying to get my ZT to play nice with the MAC ram that was in there.

Anyway, Pics:

It now has a sidewinder (my favorite reg). I hope it isn't a no-no to change a reg on a venom. Just not a fan of glads...

Thanks. I just can't decide wether to get it re anno'd the same scheme, or go crazy.

I really like the look of that T2.... are you thinking about putting acid's trigger on there? Any anno decisions?

I don't mean to sound p.o.'d, I love doing this stuff. Only thing more fun than tinkering is playing.

Funny, after I cleaned I put the glad on a different marker and put a sidewinder on the venom too. Smile If you like SW's, try the SST.

That's the one i have! I love my SST. Second only to my 2Liter's.

I'm thinking an acid was similar to those of the bonebrake freestyles (ideally), or just super lime green (venom color!)

Well I finished the ram and noid today. The noid had a nice-sized chunk of oring lodged in there. That took care of the singing. Devolumized the cap, wet sanded (briefly), polished, and switched out the housing for a ported one:

I switched out some items, and added the rest of the pieces - all finished.

Do you use the +'s or the originals? Are yours consistent?

Lime green huh? Sounds cool, kinda like the color of that reptile character in Mortal Combat II?

Both mine are "+". They are literally the best regs in paintball.

Exactly on reptile. I would love to put something like this on it (to pay heritage to it's venom-ness)
