I have internet again, so no more fun around here.

Here are the pictures from last week at The Wall. They were taken with my iphone, so we are not talking great quality.

Pre-show. This was a stadium concert; we were on the upper deck at AT&T Park. It is a nice stadium, but I have never seen anything other baseball games there. The wall extended across the back end of the outfield, almost completely hiding the bleachers. There were field seats, but we did not get to sit there. It was actually kinda cool because as soon as the concert began, that area lit up with recording devices. As the projections changed colors, so did all the little screens on peoples cameras.

Intermission. The projected pictures and small blurbs about people who were killed as a result of war. I have never been to a concert with an intermission. At this point, the wall had been completed. The was finished during the first half of the show. Bricks were added so subtly that you hardly noticed. Each new brick received its piece of projection within a second of the brick being placed.

Two pictures from after the intermission. I don't recall which song though. Maybe "In the Flesh?" or "The Show Must Go On."

At the end, after the wall was knocked down and Roger Waters and company had left the stage. I was really hoping they would do an encore performance of something, but that was not the case. I had came down to the bottom of the upper deck to take this picture.

If you have the chance, this is a show totally worth seeing. Pay the money, take the time and go see it. My lady enjoyed the show and she does not even like Pink Floyd. The visuals were stunning. The music was great. The sound quality was very good for a stadium concert. I was told that this was the first time they had performed The Wall at a stadium. I read that he said this is the last time touring. Given the opportunity, I would see this again.

originally, the album is a double album. the first record was dealing with alienation of ourselves and the second was the alienation of the world and hypocrisy of power and what it does to us, or something like that. the first album concluded with the building of the wall, the second was the eventual breakdown of that wall. its a concept album of the 70's, so there were no rules.

glad you enjoyed it.

Yep. I had never listened to the album beginning to end before.

Go see it.

I have always heard about these events, but never had the interest or courage to try one out.

Definitely something to consider, thanks Mal.

IIRC, back then, in the age of overblown concert shows, that would last like 4 hours, with possibly one opening band, if that. the concerts had gotten so large and costly that the production of the tour would actually cost the band and record company more money than was made on ticket sales. The Wall tour, only came to like 8 cities, for maybe 2 shows each, if that. i'm thinking that it was only once a city. it puts into perspective the spectacle, that you HAD to go, you HAD to see it, as the tour wouldn't happen that often.

in modern terms, its like Lalapooluza, Coochela, Ozfest, all rolled into one, but with one band.

no ways I only have 2400 posts here. I need to start whoring here as much as i do on other forums.

I bet my pbnation posts are pretty low as well; i mostly just use it for b/s/t and stickies

6,500 since october 2005.

It's cool though. i just broke 20k posts on paintballforum.com. since november 2004 It gets a lot of noobs and they have lots of questions.
