So I am considering trying to sell my SR on Ebay but dont want to unless I have a general idea of what the fee's would be. I know a few of you guys sell on Ebay and was hoping you could give me a general idea on what I would be looking at. It would be a Buy It Now at around $215, at most 5 pictures, being able to enlarge the photos, and probably like 2 weeks long.

Im hoping I can get a estimate from one of you guys who sell a bit on Ebay, and if you need to know anything else to give me one just ask.

-thanks

with only one picture, and no buy it now, it's free
but 5 would be like 3 dollars

I just found a fee thingy on Ebay's site but even that is confusing as heck unfortuneatley.

And FGB, there still has to be some sort of fee's though right? Like listing and if it sells and all those ones?

paypal takes like 4% i believe (not sure on number).
the most basic listing is free.
everytime you add a feature, it ranges from .25 cents to like 3 dollars

Ebay will also charge you more for the higher the price it starts at. also they get a certain percentage for what it sells for.

I just sold my first item on Ebay, a cymbal. It was fairly easy and all that, but it was really frustrating because on your first sale now, eBay places the funds on hold until the buyer receives the item and leaves you feedback. I had provided a tracking number on the cymbal and I had seen it had reached it's destination, but the buyer didn't leave me feedback for another 3 days. I messaged him and politely reminded him to leave me so feedback (not mentioning that I really just wanted to get paid). So that's kind of lame.

Back to the fees. Not sure how the Buy it Now works, but I can tell you about the auction fees. They will probably give you a free 'insertion' fee, but you'll still pay around 10% of the total auction price and a few percent to Paypal.
The auction for my cymbal went to around $150. I paid paypal about $4 and eBay about $15. So yeah, I sold the item, but I would have rather sold it on craigslist or some other forum just so I could avoid the fee and them having to hold the money.

One thing that is nice, you can go through the listing process and get your fees etc calculated for you before you actually list it.

I usually pay about .65 to list, but the sale fee is what gets you. It changes based on how much it sells for, and lower end sales end up costing a higher percentage. Figure 10% toll to the troll is it sells.

If you use BIN, you get options of how long to list, at no extra cost. Up to 30 days.

So I basically make the listing, but before actually listing it, it will give me my total fee's?

yep. it will give you your listing fees, plus the fee if it sells. listing fees are on the first page?? and sales fees on the second i think. The second page has the "list your item" button.

you might want to try a run-through with a low-cost item first just to see how it works.
