Found this just a minute ago on PDX Craigslist.

Noticed there's some sort of tape on the feedneck. Bad sign. But still it seems like it would be a good deal. I know now that the new SL 68's have come out, so maybe that's pushing down the price of the old ones.

Anyone have any experience with these old Tippy pumps? Is this a good deal or not? Are they pretty easy to keep happy? Any issues I should know about?

I'm gonna contact the guy and see what's up with it.
Yea?
Nea?

they are always work horses when I see them, guy last week was playing with one. I never owned one, but I hear they are simple.. and that the pump stroke is heavy. But not a super bad deal for 30$ if its near by it might be work snagging it.

If you got the thirty dollars to spend, I would say it is a pretty safe bet. you might be able to retrofit something over the feedneck. I would say that it is a sure thing that the feedneck I shot.

Lemme text a couple people. I will find out if the feedneck is replaceable.

the tape is for holding the hopper. Tippmann used a weird smaller feedneck, so you need some sort of an adapter(if you get it, PM me, i have one that i can let go for cheap).

they are a work horse, a bit on the heavy side, but reliable as, well a Tippmann. if you are looking for a cheap pump, it is an option.

the barrel system is a slip fit. you can have barrel turned down, Tippmann prolite/carbine/a-5 barrels are the best option for that.

velocity adjustment is through the bolt, Tippmann's choke system(screw to choke off the airflow through the bolt, not the best but it works.

upkeep is drip some oil in when you air it up, and that's it.

i had one, now a friend has it. i totally forgot i had one. if you don't like it, its great as a loaner, if you go with a phantom or sniper/sheridan based pumper.

Just emailed the guy. We'll see if he gets back to me. It's not necessarily close to me, but if I travel through PDX then I might feel like picking it up

Yeah, it's know it's not pretty, but due to my economic viability these days I need something cheap so I can play pump. And I need to play pump so I can be cheap.

I can spend another hundred on something 'good' but at this point I'd rather save up for entry and paint to the Supergame coming up next month.
