Are reballs made to be the same weight as a real paintball? can i use it to chrono a gun in the backyard? also, where can i buy reballs for cheap? any info on this is greatly appreciated.

I used reballs to tune guns in the house, but I don't recall if the velocity went up or down when I switched to paintballs.

As far as a cheap place to find them, they can be had relatively cheaply on PBN.

I've got reballs, but I try to run them at about 240fps because they'll dent otherwise.

there are "real" reballs and "fake" reballs. hence why someone could sell a pod for $25. reballs or any reusable paintball can be chrono'd. they are similar in weight and shape, hence force feeding loaders can work.

I have found the reballs and the knock offs are smaller in diameter, small enough that SP actually makes a new insert now just for reballs that is smaller diameter then everything else. If you want to use reballs to chrono test then i would recommend that bore if you have a freak kit. Otherwise you'll get it close but likely still do some tweaking when it comes field time.

Reballs, as well as all the others i have seen recommend a lower FPS then with paintballs, although i forget the number. I believe this precaution is used only for the purpose to keep injuries down when actually used as projectiles in games.
