Yes you can and most people do use holes rather than slots. Though a word of warning. It is better to add holes rather than make them bigger. If you make the holes too big the ram shaft oring will not seal and you will have a leak thatcan only be fixed by replacing w/ new.

Ok is it best to lighten the hammer or leave like it is? Ligther it is the more air pressure is needed to move the hammer right ?? and if you do ligthen it up, what the best way, grinding it down or drilling holes????

Duane

Lightening and porting the shaft lowers LPR pressure.

Best way is to "grind" it down, then drill some holes in the face. Be sure not to drill the center of the hammer face and do not interfear with the threads.

We've been having a HUGE amount of guns come in lately with screwed up rams from people trying to do mods to them.

If you do things incorrectly you're looking at about $70 to replace the ram assembly and if you don't get it cleaned out and let metal shavings get into your noid, you're looking at another 70.

You have no idea how many people have screwed up both then got entirely ticked at us for having to charge them to replace the parts.

When you start whacking and grinding on things it voids the warranty and this could very well end up costing you a lot of cash if you do it improperly.

I'm not saying you can't do it without hurting anything, but sometimes people don't think about what the possible cost would be if they mess up.
