Have you fallen or slipped off?

Mal: yeah it's called a wind farm. The one in palm springs is my company. Cali has some huge wind farms. They are amazing. I love the range from older (80's turbines) to alot of new ones.

jt: there's no crying in wind turbines! Lol I was kinda scared for a while (I wasn't a huge fan of heights) but you get used to it. After 2 years if I was still scared I would have found a new job.

I have slipped and had a few close calls but noone at my site had ever fallen off. The biggest chances of that is when its raining or during winter when there is ice on top of them.

They had some of these guys when I first moved to Livermore. I think they have all been disassembled though.

That is good. I would imagine that the harness hurts when it catches you.

Those are cool. They were having problems with the top of the blades breaking, falling to the ground and taking out the guide wires.

Very much so. I have seen some nasty pics of improper harness adjustment which resulted in some really bad man member ruptures. that will make sure you check and adjust you're safety gear properly.

Dear God, please do not elaborate on that.

That's why I worded it that way. I won't elaborate but trust me it's not pretty.

hence the reason yoyos are so much better. I've fallen with both (mind you, not from the top of a 300ft turbine), and the, uh, swelling is much less with the yoyo.

Pretty cool pics, it's awesome to see what everyone else here does.
