What do you say to your friends when they come over and see all your ICD? Or when they know your on "some website" all the time.

All of mine don't understand anything about "chain-blasters" or "bush-makers" and just write it off as a weird hobby. They can't imagine why I would need more than 1 paintball gun.

When I played, I would get comments from the old guys and snears from the new guys. My wife just thinks its weird when I talk about you guys to her.

Ultimately I loved to bring out 4-5 guns to the field and play with a different one each game. It was fun.

I guess more broadly, what do your non-paintball friends think of paintball?

My paintball friends though I was an idiot for loving ICD, but I slowly won them over haha

A few years back when I was getting back into paintball, one of my old buddies that I used to play paintball with kept telling me to just get an Ego. It makes sense, Ego's are dependable and parts and upgrades for them can be had easily.

I was stubborn and kept with my ICD loving tradition. At this point now, I probably could have gotten an Ego11 or Geo2 had I saved my money.
I'm happy with my choice and it's nice to go to fields and have a somewhat unique marker.

As far as people who aren't into paintball, well, I don't talk about paintball with muggles like that. It's an expensive kid's game to everyone else it seems.

Yeah. I don't really talk about it with people either, because everyone has an idea of what paintball is, and to explain what it ACTUALLY is like, and what I do, would take too much effort.

I remember there was a girl in my dorm, who legitimately wanted to know the operational differences between a spoolie and a poppit, and I remember explaining that took like 4 hours (it was well done, with actual guns, parts, and some zds)

Well in that case, I have to agree w/ you FGB. I never really talked to anyone about paintball outside the community. It is just too much of a pain to explain the game and to not come off as some goofy kid playing kids games.

I have 2 rooms in my house that I am allowed to do/keep whatever in. My computer room aka my paintball/computer room and my garage. When people see my room they always ask. Why do you have some much paintball stuff for one person, and if they know paintball they ask why do I keep all the old crappy stuff. And when they see my garage they want to know why I have so many crappy useless jeep parts
