What do you think is better, easier to maintain, And priced better.

What would you pay for a promaster?

Shifted over to the paintball talk section.

I am a freestyle man, but the balancing the regulators can be more difficult to balance. I prefer freestyles though. The freestyle 8 performs very nicely, better than the promaster I think.

Promasters are worth about 50-100. Freestyles go from 50-200, depending on generation and upgrades.

They'll both be fine. I don't know why some people have more issues with Freestyles. You have to know how to balance the regulators with both types. I guess with a poppet style valve (Promaster, Bushmaster) the balancing doesn't need to be perfect for the marker to perform well. For a Freestyle, you really need to be able to fine tune the marker by balancing it correctly.

I think what it comes down to is efficiency. Can you live with an in-efficient marker? Then get a Freestyle. In my opinion the Freestyle is smoother, more accurate, and fairly easy to maintain. But the Promaster is almost twice as efficient, can go for a while without needing to lube it and is probably more reliable in colder weather. So consider that.

Since you got butternut's FS, it should be ready to go and everything should be in order. Just post up any questions you have about it.

there is no wrong choice. FS's are closer to a spool type gun, which does translate into a smoother shooting gun, sometimes faster, but like a spool valve, they do require more in maintaining them. the PM is the replacement for the Bushmaster and is a poppit. never shoot a PM, but a poppit is a poppit, to a point.

but since you seem to have already picked up a FS, my answers are moot. the one thing that i can tell you is, if you did pick up the FS from Butternutvalley, it will be in fine condition. he fixed my FS and it shoot wonderfully, so you will be happy with his old one.
