As I am sure all of you are aware, this is an expensive sport. Basically, you buy a case of paint and throw it away. I am always looking for a cheaper, easier way to get paint.

My team captain used to buy paint in bulk. I shot karnage paint for 28-40 dollars a case, depending on the grade. The bite was not to bad either. It was great for practice.

Since the team fell apart, I have been shooting whatever I can get my hands on. When one of my buddies moved, he gave me all his pods and about 2000 mixed paintballs that were about 2 years old. That stuff shot great, but I would not want to be on the receiving end of it.

One of the guys I play with regularly says he knows a guy that works for a sports store. The guy will buy us paint from the store using his employee discount. I am not especially comfortable with the arrangement, but I don't think it will actually materialize.

So, I have been buying field paint at the inflated rate for crappy paint.

I used to buy off actionvillage.com, but these days, I just buy an extra couple of cases at dday and store them well.

I buy from Capital Paintball, my local store. Or I will buy it at the field

Before my regular days, I bought at the shop. The shop went out of business though.

How is ordering online? Do you get and cases damaged in shipping?

I have always been concerned about ordering offline. But if it works, I might give it a try. Better then walmart paint...

I buy all my paint from my field. It's like $55 a case, but I don't have to pay field fee and air. Plus it's decent quality.

If I'm going to a field paint only field, I usually just get the cheapest they offer. Around here there seems to be a proliferation of Core Prime and Draxxus Field paint. It's always usually between 40 and 50 a case. I can't complain about it since I have yet to step up and buy 'premium' paint at 65 a case and see what that's like.

I've bought paint at the local outdoor store here(RP Premium for 60) and I think I'm one of the only person in this town that buys paint there. Earlier last year I caught them with some new inventory and those cases I bought shot wonderfully. I bought a bag recently and I think it's year old paint by now. I had to throw it out it was so bad.

Definitely gone down the Wal Mart route and bought some Spyder paint and Brass Eagle Diablo out here at the Fred Meyer. Only used that for testing. I gotta say, you don't get many barrel breaks with that stuff.

Ah yes, Submission paintball. Might as well get out the old mech and shoot about 400fps.

I was chatting with one of the co-owners up at midway and she was saying that other fields in the area are charging a fee when you bring your own paint. From the perspective of a player, that is BS.

My local Frys electronics has a toy section where they have a few spiders and other kingman products. They had a few cases of spyder red label for 20 bucks for a 2k round case. So I figured hey I'm just playing Rex, it's worth a gamble. It was very very old. One bag had a few breaks in it that had fused about 30-40 rounds together. So I ended up with about 1950 good rounds. It shot ok, nothing stellar, but I got my 20 bucks worth. Usually I shoot the field paint at $43 a case though.

I'm like 63VDub, I typically buy more than I need and store it well. Last case I purchased was a case of really fresh Marbz for $40. I used about 300round and that same case is being stored in the coat closet in the house. Its temp controlled since the house is Very Happy and I just turn the bags every now and again.

Since I don't do the tourny thing I don't mind slightly old paint.
