that's why i bought a reg tester 6 months ago and can't believed i lived without it. that way i can test out the reg before putting it on a gun and won't blow a noid if i don't have to. no one wants to blow if they don't have to Wink

but if i had the cash, i would rather buy new or from someone i know, than used off the net. i've run into many problems of people that don't know, don't care, or run it till it dies and ship it off. and that the shipping off is exacerbated by the fact that no one wants to give full disclosure on the part(s).

save your pennies, go new and forget about it. or roll the dice and try something else for cheaper. but you know this already.

I have not had bad luck buying on the internet. I bought a PPS stab from xpocad, but I knew that needed a rebuild. I think the rest has been stock ICD regs. Oh, I got an Empire HPR from jtusa on that bbfs. It is built very similar to a CP. I like the way it is put together, but I can't seem to find any others.

25 buck is a decent gamble. I am going to try talking him down a little bit tonight.

Isn't a reg tester just an ASA with a gauge and a plug?

no, how would you vent to see the recharge? i'll grab pics of mine, so better illustrate the idea. mine is an AKA one, and i love it. though, need to pick up a 0-300psi gauge, but its no biggy. do need to get a pics of the grips for FGB anyway.

I just unscrewed the asa from the reg. It was a pain, but it worked for make shift.

ask and ye shall receive...

basically, you put the reg in the bottom of the tester. you hook up the air line from an ASA, like you would on a gun. you select the gauge that you need, and pull the lever. it vents the regulated air. release the lever and it seals up, giving you the new reading on the gauge.

you can see how well the reg recharges, what its range is, and if its working at all. so far its saved me a lot of trouble, for diagnosing gun problems, and not damaging a noid. granted, you are limited to how good the gauges are, but if anything, it gives you an idea on where the reg should be set, and you can put it on the gun without having spikes.

AKA's website still sells these and it is well worth it. i had a sidewinder that was giving me spikes of 1000psi(good on a 800psi crossfire tank), but it saved me from putting it on the gun and blowing the noid into little noid bits. though with the recent problems with AKA, i would try a third party or try asking if a online store could order one for you.

Very nice. Sounds like some sticky material there. Going to look into getting one for myself. What's are the recent prob's with AKA.
Use PE and hyper2 regs myself. $25 for 07 PE reg is a good deal.
Both are easy to rebuild. Using a hyper2 on my Quest and works great.
Missed out on a siderwinder on MCB last nite, darn work! It was gone quick.

I don't know if this one was posted over here.

Take that, margins!

I would rather have that setup than a traditional luxe, IMO. There are so many shocker bolts available.
