I'm looking to drop $100-$150 on the marker. I'm eyeing a Rotor? long way from a Revvy, but okay. I guess a tank is a tank is a tank, right? Anyone still double reg CO2? Got a mask, those look weird these days too.

Usually people use high pressure air tanks these days. My field does not even offer c02 fills.

I would go with a velocity jr for a hopper. The rotor is about 100 used and 200 new. The velocity jr will do everything you need it to do for 70 dollars new and ~35 used.

For $150, it would be hard to beat a pmr, or a g3.

And yes, the rotor is the single most brilliant piece of machinery to come out in the last 5 years, paintball wise. It's flawless. I love the rotor to death.

And yeah, tank is pretty much a tank. But, if you have the extra scratch, pick up a ninja tank. They're super light, have amazing regs (you can basically setup your desired output pressure) and have great customer service.

Welcome to the site. Not much acne here, but plenty of re-built knees, middle-aged crisis, and mortgage payments.

Good 'ole Bushmaster fan boy here, IMO can't go wrong with a stock setup w/updated hpr. Promasters are a good 2nd choice.

Word of caution, if you buy a bushmaster FGB will end up with it in his collection, someway, somehow.... like the planets aligning in the solar system....

yah if your marker price range is 100-150 and ease of use def PMR. I got super lucky and got one with an UL frame for around 150 but you can get one with a stock frame for 125 or less pretty easy. Only reason I have taken mine apart at all was for upgrades, but it shoots smooth and fast stock.

Cant go wrong with a rotor, used prices have been ok lately at the ~100-120 mark. Pending your budget and what you want Halo's and reloaders are both still solid hoppers. tanks are tanks but you want a decent reg on it, Guerilla Air Myth or Ninja adjustable are both great.

you have a mask so your good there if your happy with it, but I got a used empire E-vent with 3 lenses for $40 the other day on PBN, so there are deals to be had on used masks.

Couldn't have said it better myself. LOL!

Anyway, welcome to the best paintball site on the web. You'll find the folks around here to be friendly and helpful.

My 14 yr old son also recently expressed an interest in playing paintball, fortunately i have acquired quite a bit of gear to hand down to him.
HPA is the only way to go with electros and used 68/3000 tanks can be found fairly cheap. You just need to fill up more frequently. For a budget loader, a Vlocity Jr or Halo B would be adequate. For a marker, i'd suggest a Quest. They run a little more than you're $150 budget (around $200ish) but they are smooth shooting, low maintenance markers.
If you're in the SoCal area, i'd let you try out my markers. Have fun playing paintball with your daughter.

Love my Promaster. Thing rips like there is no tomorrow. Can easily keep up with a modern shooter. Although they love air, thats pretty much their main downfall, otherwise nice shooting markers.

I would just post a WTB thread on here for a Promaster. Will get a much better deal from a reliable and knowledgeable person.

As for FGB's collection. His collection of bushy's is not your simple plain old ones either. Almost all of his bushmasters are rare/private label/majorly upgraded ones. If you ever buy a private label or just really nice bushy, plan on having him message you about buying it. There have been men on here that said they would NEVER sell their bushmaster, go to the grave with it. One message from FGB later and they are several hundred dollars richer, and one paintball gun short Wink

In the price range you mentioned the PMR is the only choice. The Promaster is good but will require more maintenance over time, not alot but there are few markers at any price that are as maintenance free as a PMR, just pull the bolt assembly out of the back after you play, clean and lube it reinstall it and done.

stock board is more than adequate for rec-play and the best part... parts are dirt cheap especially on ebay, even upgrade parts. I have a rolling toolcase full of parts and tools for bushys and other guns... I have a small 3"x6" plastic Plano organizer case for everything needed for a PMR. 3 allen wrenches and a bunch of orings...spare 9v battery etc.

also the PMR only has one reg for adjustment... no balancing High and Low pressure regs to get your marker running properly... one reg, adjusts velocity and go play... can't count how many times on my other Hi/Lo reg'd guns i've been over at the chrono trying to dial in my gun while everyone else is out playing... then I get frustrated and whip out the PMR and go play. It always works.. except when it needs a battery.

Only other marker i have that is almost as reliable is my Ego 5. it's a Hi/Lo reg'd gun but the Lo reg almost NEVER needs adjustment and the Hi reg is very consistent and rarely needs tinkering. The ego 5 is more than your $150 budget though but is not much of a step up in terms of performance. To be honest the only reason I go to it more than the PMR is because it has more clout with the kiddies and is a little better on air... but otherwise the PMR should be my gun.
