Okay sorry i must be getting them mixed up the gauge reads 220 above my reg. In terms of the LPR we had followed those above directions about turning it til the bolt pops then 1/4 less. Maybe a stupid question but how do i read the pressure on the LPR since the gauge is for the HPR.

Add a 1/4 more to the LPR when the bolt cocks, not a 1/4 less. LPR is set by feel and sound, not by guage. You can find a ram gauge from time to time here. They are good for reference, but the practical application is minimal at best

So as a quick update I took the bushy out this week and adjusted the LPR/HPR appropriately but still couldnt breach the 250 mark. Still shot great but would be awesome to get it up a bit.

Some thoughts I had on what could be the issue and wanted to open it up to the group:

1. Is the Cylinder Main Spring loosing its tension? Would replacing it improve this?
2. It looks like the Delrin bolt is getting some friction when i slide it in at the bolt pin hole. (i'll upload pictures of this shortly)
- Is there an easy way at home on how I can smooth out these metal imperfections (other than sending it into the black hole of vaporworks?)

3. Would using Hater Sauce be too sticky for the ram and causing the issue as well?

4. If I replace the LPR could that help?

1. the spring in the ram only helps with FSDO(first shot drop off). the ram is fully pneumatic.

2. take some 400 grit sand paper and give it a few rubs, then check placement. just take it off in small increments as you can always take off material, but you can't put it back on.

3. it could be too thick. i haven't ever used Hater Sauce, so it could contribute. personally, i use superlube, i got my tube at ACE hardware. you can get the smaller ones other places. its not too thick, when compared to most spoolie type lubes.

4. before you replace the LPR, make sure that its lubed and clean. take a alcohol pad and clean everything. the alcohol should cut through any grit or old lube. just wipe off the orings with a paper towel. reassemble and relube any of the moving surfaces. the stock LPRs aren't bad, just that some of the aftermarket ones are better.

also, what is your HPR? i have found that my CP has a sweet spot and can't really get above 270's, though i need to check my board's settings as my LPR is almost all the way in, but that's me. so the HPR might be the culprit. so, if you can, swap out the one on the gun, with a different one and see if that makes any difference.

I'm using a new CP Reg as well (new version). It was also interesting and thought I was going crazy but when I increased the HPR to >300 psi the velocity actually started dropping so to hit 250 fps I was actually lowering the psi to around ~220 psi.

In terms of the super lube wanted to confirm this is the right one -- www.amazon.com/Synthet...B000XBH9HI (got amazon prime so makes life easier and cheaper)

Thanks again for all the help.

It sounds like valve isn't opening long enough/ allowing enough air to flow to get u to speed. Many things can cause this. Weak battery, LPR orings, too much or not enuff lube in the LPR, LPR improperly set, wrong springs in LPR or the valve, HPR orings, too much or not enuff lube in the HPR, HPR improperly set, loose hammer, clogged air passages, miss aligned solenoid gasket, mis-aligned solenoid o-rings, torn orings on the ram housing, etc, etc, ....

The trick here is you have a marker with alot of unknowns. When presented with this, I treat all markers the same. Tear it all the way down and clean everything (Not just marker but the regulators as well). Every nook, cranny and crevise. Inspect all your orings, wires and surfaces. Do this on a clean table with enough room to lay the parts out in order as they are dis-assembled. This is a time to learn, not rush, as being in a hurry with small intricate objects leads to bad words, large beer bills and missed games while waiting for parts. Make sure you downlaod a schematic of the marker from the download section here on ICDO.

*** NOTE - DO NOT dis-assemble the solenoid unless you are comfortable doing so and then remember it is at your own peril. Unscrewing it from its' mount is okay, this will allow you to check the gasket and/ or orings.

After owning lots of markers and working on a bajillion, I have found that people's cleanliness standards vary greatly. So no matter if a marker is new or used, the 1st thing I do after un-boxing and drooling on it, is clean every part of it. I have gotten markers that the owners swore were mint and kept like new, only to find a damn sand box, jelly-filled mess.

In short, start with a clean slate. Clean everything, then lube and re-assemble. I have found that most issues are solved by simply cleaning the marker. Noticed I said solved, not fixed that is because the cleaning will usually reveal the problem.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the recommendations. So would you recommend even a new CP reg to be disassembled and re-lubed? I assumed it'd be good for a while straight out of the box. Also, I noticed Nobody used alcohol on a pad to clean parts, is this the best method (other than the orings with paper towel?).

Thanks,
Mike

even if you buy a reg new, who knows how long it sat on the shelf, how long it took the store to get it, or how long it sat at the factory. also, even though the factory has standards for completion, human error can still happen. take it apart, relube, so you know that it is not the problem.

^^^

What he said.

By doing everything you eliminate everything. You also will then know for sure.

I use alcohol as well. Q-tips, lint free rags etc... No alcohol on the orings, not good for rubber or urethane.
