much has been said about this mystical gun. very little information was ever known and more speculation about it. making it almost like the Loch Ness Monster.

well, i ask Simon 'Manike' Stevens about them and more importantly, if he could bring them out of hiding. initially i wanted to do a "From the Basement" gun tour with Simon, but the heat was too much. who wants to see a sweaty Englishman? i was able to get a lot of the story and a few pictures.

these guns were made by Simon/Kee for the possible sponsorship of Russian Legion to use these guns. when they were complete(they have been in various states of completion since this demo), Konstantine Federov has shot one in some sort of game/practice and while he didn't dislike the way he shot, he did not like the board logic most of all. these guns are based off the 04 gen2 FS. they have the older horizontal board(less the second eye switch), which we all know left a lot on the table.

the only RLFS's in the world are in these pictures. so any numbers of 12, 20, or whatever are totally false. they are also not spread around the world or bi-coastal or anything like that. these are in the possession of Simon. there are no other bodies, or owners for these guns. again, if anyone else that says differently is lying.

the back of the gun, was a tricrown(the lines for the side, coming to back, and the spine of the gun) area that would mimic the logo for the Russian Legion. the guns did not have the logo's yet. the were a simple red to black fade. the logos would have been lasered on, IIRC. i do apollogize if i might have missed some of the finer points. it was incredibly hot. playing in 90+ degree weather is not easy. not only does the bright sun kill the contrast of pictures, but talking in the open is not fun, no matter what the subject.

here is the pics:



the 3rd gun in the pic is the prototype, which has different milling that the other 2. this was to make the milling on the breech easier on the production guns.

the second pic is all the RLFS in the world. there are no others. i was surprised at the 3 amigos, so to speak. i have offered to help in any way, from parts to wiring or anything else in the ICD to Simon. which is an honor, in itself. i can't say when that is, but Simon will have my full support in getting them back together.

so there you go, i'm sure i'll ask Simon to go over this to comfer the story and correct any mistakes i made. as i said, it was oppressively hot. i did extend a thank you from ICDO to Simon for his time, knowledge and generosity in digging out these relics for me.

That's pretty epic, Nobody.

I watched the vid Simon posted when he was talking about his new 100rd force fed hopper. He seems like a great fellow to know. Seems like a smart guy. Makes me wonder what he sees in the paintball business. Can't imagine that he's making that much money with it(especially when he releases an open source hopper design). Does he work in another industry to pay his bills?

I'll update the freestyle sticky to reflect this.

Since you give freestyles gremlins, I will go ahead and offer my services.


I also found out some information on other PL freestyles since I put that sticky together.

There were forty total bonebrake freestyles made, about ten in each color scheme. The color schemes were yellow acid wash, rust acid, red, and green/black acid.

I believe there were ten Epic freestyles and ten Epic FSPs. They were only done in that pewter color.

i will pass along your offer to help, i am only looking at it to provide hard parts. Simon is good enough that he knows the system and shouldn't need the fine tuning that some of us that are lesser skilled on the platform. but like i said, that is a back burner project.

eeyore: he's not making money at the 'pico' hopper. with it open sourced and his possibility of selling some from a small run of 3d printed for those that don't have access to 3d printers. its more of a game changer/putting his name out there. you might not know Simon or Inception designs, but know the Pico hopper shells or his other work on the Halo/Magna/Prophecy/Z2, but not anything else. he's not going to make a fortune on them and would be surprised if he makes anything, but his other projects will be worth it on the profit.

as much as Simon wants to design and make products that are for the player, he also needs to make some money so he can keep on making products that are not only make money, but help paintball evolve.

Great to see some pics of actual RLFS's, and Simon is a great guy who is very helpful to anyone in the paintball world. a True icon of the sport and industry.
