Who's actually had some tanks re-certified, and how much did it cost? Anyone ever had a tank fail during the test?

I have some older tanks (of course out of date) and wanted to weigh my options, what is average to expect to pay to have them re-certified, and if its worth it. My old Centerflag hyperflow 68/4500, an old adjustable MaxFlow 68/4500, and Crossfire 70/4500 peanut for example I might want to save. Guess it depends on the cost and if they have made much advancement in what's available these days. I am going to assume its not cost effective to bother having steel or aluminum 45/3000 tanks tested... I didn't much like those tanks anyhow.

you can send them to ninja or other places, and it'sll cost around $35 a tank shippied.

I found a local fire extinguisher place that does it in house for $18. It's great, the turn around time is phenomenal as well.

I have a local welding supply shop that does mine for $13.
Just have to have the reg removed.
I've had 17 tanks done for myself and friends over the last three years.

Wow, $13 sounds pretty reasonable, at that rate I would probably even have the heavy metal tanks done as loaners.

So far best price I came across was $19 but its a bit of a drive and would have to make a return trip 5-10 days later to pick them up after testing.

my local place is 20-25 20 for 3k 25 for 4500

just a note, If the shop is not a paintball shop, aka welding, fire extinguisher place, have the regs removed ahead of time. They tend to not care how the regs come off.

Yup, my place will only do them if regs are removed, they will not remove them.
