The problem with the cockeyed noid is that it is keeping the frame from going on.

I'll let you know what he wants to do, Doug.

Oh, I didn't read your post right. Umm...well I'd think that you might try reseating the manifold to body. Maybe an o-ring between the body and manifold is a bit off?

Edit: Possibly the retap wasn't done totally square. Did you have the marker put back together correctly at any point after the retap?

Random post from a resident lurker.

Oring first. It's been a while since I've seen a spool "oring" on a humphrey, but on the skinner valves, they are not orings at all (and I think it's the same on the humphreys). The seal is actually more of a washer and once they go, they are done. No practical rebuild or replacement available. On some solenoids the outermost spool seal is an oring, but I think I've only seen that on smc valves. The seals that jump the gaps (e.g. the middle seals) are usually wider and flatter to avoid popping off the spool under pressure. That's why the exhaust seals on the 200+psi rated crcb are removed from the spool and seal on the outer diameter of the spool. Can't pop off that way.

Here's a protip for fixing a freestyle with a blown spool seal. The spool on the hea valves is symmetrical and can be flipped. This is relevant to fixing a freestyle because their operation only requires a 3 way solenoid, but a 4 way solenoid was used (Hawk once told me he thought the 4 way valves were more responsive). Anyway, what that means is that the front half of the spool seals are the only ones that are isolating air in normal operation. The back half does nothing. So, if a seal blows clean off that spool, just flip it 180 degrees and you will be leak free. Because the pre-crcb valve freestyles ran an lpr pressure that was right on the edge of blowing the valve apart, it's not uncommon to see an 04/05 freestyle with a damaged solenoid.

Centering the solenoid. I think I've run into this before and was able to remedy it by loosening the manifold screws just beyond tight and pushing the valve back to center while retightening. I think there's just a little bit of play between the solenoid screws and the solenoid body, so it won't always sit squarely.

Maybe that will fix some problems, maybe not.

Thats good to know about being able to flip the piston spool.

Although last time I thought my noid was leaking it was a hose/barb connection on it and not internal. hate those hoses.
