Glad to hear Air America is coming back.

Back in the day, growing up outside of Chicago, I saw the first HPA systems that were the Air America stuff. We all wanted those new systems, but yeah, $485.00 for a system was a bit steep for a teenager at the time.

On another note, the only competitor at the time in HPA was Nitro Duck, lol, those regs and bottles looked like they were going to burst at any second. Then the SP came out the with Maxflo system and Air America had a true competitor.

Eventually my buddy got a Automag RT with the 88ci Raptor system. It was badass, but somewhate bulky and heavy. Also, you had to get an adapter and a drop forward for them to mount on your marker, which of course, was more moolah.

One thing I did really like about their systems is they were, for the most part, completely adjustable.

I bought an Apocalypse system off of I&I sports about 8-9 years ago for a steal. I'm keeping it on my Pumas cause it can reg up to 1200psi. Gonna keep that around for a while.

But yeah, I made the mistake of getting some Myth regs a few years back. I do like their compact-ness, but I'm ready to say goodbye to them at any moment.
I'll be watching to see what they do.
In my personal opinion, I would like to see a compact, adjustable reg, that you don't have to degas your bottle, tear down the reg and swap a screw, and that screws into a regular ASA. Maybe that's too much to ask, but I can keep my fingers crossed. I just want to be able to take one tank and use it to run my high pressure blowbacks and then turn around and put it on my low pressure Freestyles and Promasters.

I must have missed out on the big deal about Air america. I know they they're an old regulator company, but I couldn't' tell you what their product looked like, or what tanks they were on.

the bigger question is if they can be competitive with Ninja.

As an old Automag rt/ X-Valve owner I can tell you the big deal with Air America past their great regs was their "Apocalypse" and other tank regulators and ASA's

Their customer service was nice when they were around back in the day too.

A well tuned level 10 RT Automag / ULT modified X-Valve with an apocalypse regulator was / is absolutely crazy fast..we're talking full on "we've gone to plaid" levels of ludicrous speed .

( To give one an example of the sheer scale of air output possible ..they literally have been tuned by Vettertech and other modders to run in roughly the same rate of fire as the GAU-8 "Avenger" autocannon on the A-10 Warthog...granted Vetter hooked his level 10 x-valved ULT Automag to a SCUBA tank so that he had enough air for the video demonstaraton.)

Such speed is pointless these days as we've throttled back a LOT since the height of the "firepower wars" of the late 90's / early 00's. ( and truth be told this is probably for the best for player safety.. but having that kinda firepower on hand to take down paintball tanks in huge scenario games is a right hoot!)

but the other upside is that their regulators ( HPR, LPR , Adjustable tank regs) were very stable..not the lightest or the "most sexy" but some of us oldschoolers will still pay a premium for an intact Apocalypse and only slightly less for one that is capable of being rebuilt back to working specifications.

The two major downsides were weight and the fact that the ASA for on/off required the user to route in a separate on off from the lien out and that the tank output nozzle was not "industry standard" ( the way I see it A.A set the standard..and a lot of companies back then came up cheaper..fut in my personal heavily biased opinion fell short.) it was wider and only fit Air America ASA/Regulators of the same spec.
